Rumor had it Casey was going to make a run at this rifle - did his first BP paycheck end up burning a hole in his pocket?

I put one on my model 70 feather weight and it fit ok. I went ahead and spent a few extra bucks and had Harry Lawson bed it for me. I really like the stock.

I had a trail camera taken from a private / locked ranch in Mexico. I never thought theft would be an issue on private property but it was. We suspect that a neighboring ranch had hunter on the wrong side of the fence and got caught on camera so they took them to hide the evidence. Can't say for sure but it's the most likely explaination.

Are these thugs part of the gang?

Suggestions for a new rifle scope
scoutm replied to Rio's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Recognize I'm a little late to this thread but I would also suggest the Zeiss Conquest - I have both the 50mm and the 44mm. Of those i would recommend the 44mm. If you get it from Doug at Cameraland what he discounts for Coueswhitetail members can be used to have target turrets put on by Zeiss. -
A Registry that is too often overlooked is the Bone Marrow Donor Registry. This gives everyone the chance to help someone in need without losing one’s life. A good friends daughter is in need of a marrow transplant so my company sponsored a donor drive – we were able to register 88 people in one day. In that process I learned a lot about the process and the need. Currently there’s a large gap in the registry for Hispanics and individuals that are mixed race. The chances of finding a non-related donor is extremely low. If you’re Hispanic or of mixed race the chances are even lower. So if you are thinking of becoming a donor also register with the Bone Marrow Donor Registry. It only takes about 15 minutes and a few drops of your blood. For more information you can go to www.Marrow.org

Does Someone in Hollywood actually get it?
scoutm posted a topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I don't think so. -
I called G&F and was told I had to be wrong about the PDF form not having the full Zip code - get this becuase "You are the only person who has called therefore you have to be wrong." I asked her to open the PDF and look for herself but she was unable to do that but she was sure I was the one that was wrong. Anway, I called the post office and they said they will ignore the last digits and deliver it anyway. We shall see.

I threw away my red envelopes and hand wrote the address on my envelopes. I mailed them yesterday. I hope that won’t be a problem.

Doug - Where did you get the "-1052" on your zipcode. On the PDF form provided on-line the zip only shows a "-10"....perhaps another example of not proofing what they publish? Larry

Found this to be of interest. Hopefully with the demand / proposed cuts in defense spending they make room for some new satelites.. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,520636,00.html

Nice Pics. Those antelope look like they're ready to drop fawns any day now. We all need to get out there and whack some coyotes to help them out. Thanks for sharing.

New Bailout Plan
scoutm replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Not as long as one might think!! Let's see.. On this desk, I have $160,150,000,000,000.00.. that is more than 4X what you guys are needing.. That picture was the first thing that came to mind. I wonder how long it will be before our money looks like that. At the rate they are printing it I can't image it will be too long. -
I currently use the Petzl Zipka Plus style of headlamp but with my eyes not seeing as well in low light conditions as they use to I'm in the market for a brighter headlamp. I really like the compact size the zipka offers but I just need more light. What do you guys use and what are the pros/cons of them. Thanks!

I had a great time on the hunt. It's really fun hunting turkey when you're not freezing your butt off. Congrats on a great spot and stalk bird. Blackdog said he was closer to 25lbs than he was to 20lbs. Great Bird!

Seasonal Differences on Hunt Success
scoutm replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I haven't read every post in this thread so I may be speaking out of turn but in the unit 33 example regardless of how many sq miles it is I would guess that only 80% of it holds whitetail and only about 50% of that can be hunted due to access issues - private land and the Monument. So even though the unit has the potential to produce a lot of bucks the pressure on the areas that can be hunted is having a very negative impact. I'm Fortunate enough to live in 33 so I'm able to get out and glass often (I have also had trail cameras setup) and I know a lot of other extremely skilled glassers who have hunted the unit for years who say the same thing - The average age has dropped considerabely and as a result the number of large bucks is way down. Don't get me wrong there are still great bucks in 33 you just have to work a lot harder to find them. -
Doug - It looks great! Congrats on a great buck and very nice mount!

I have the same tripod. The head can be removed but it takes some work. the allen head screw is secured with loctite Thread locker. If you're not careful you could strip the bolt head. You will also need the 1/4 to 3/8 conversion to work withthe better heads.
