    Waiting on a 4x4

The guy who was "crackin it" was the guy who found all the big bucks on the hunt.

    Waiting on a 4x4

You're going to have to wait for Doug to ground check him and if he doesn't then you will have to wait for my december hunt when I ground check him.

    Waiting on a 4x4

Just spoke with Doug - Mr. 4x4 never showed himself today. Doug reported seeing several smaller bucks and a ton of does/fawns. He said he was going to give it one more morning hunt before heading home.

    Lost revolver 36A

I'd also file a lost report with the county's sheriff and your local police department.

36B Very Dry and Very few Deer

Rain had to have been very spotty down south. In 36c some tanks had plenty of water and tanks less than 1 miles away were bone dry - it made no sense.

    Waiting on a 4x4

You already did that in Mexico remember? Ernesto C No we didn't do that in Mexico - In Mexico it was a 4x5 and a stupid rutting fork horn busted him out. Unfortunately, I needed to come home but Fristcoues and Red Rabbit are back in the canyon this mornig trying to track him down. Hopefully they can close the deal today. It was a tough/HOT hunt.

    Game Cart?

If anyone in Tucson has access to a game cart that I could borrow for my Oryx hunt in NM next week I would greatly appreciate it. I would much prefer not to buy one for just one hunt. Thanks, Larry

    New fire in 36C

In a little more than 24 hours the fire has increased in size by a factor of 8.5 times. After a day of high winds I can't imagine how big it will be.

    New fire in 36C

Based on where it's at and the time it started it had to be either backpack hunter or illegals.

    New fire in 36C

Three Peaks is directly west (about 2.25 miles) of the Santa Margarita Ranch House (Compound) and about 3.0 miles SW of Mildred Peak. The only way for the masses to get to it is by foot.

    My First Giant Coues Buck!!!

Congrats on a great buck!! 17 years of hard work definitely paid off on this one!!
  23. I was fortunate enough to draw this special tag and I'm looking for helpful advice anyone might wish to offer. I hate the thought of e-scouting but since you're not allowed on range until the day of your hunt and since the maps they have provided to date are so poor I see no other option. I have been a guest on this hunt once before so I've been on base and I'm familiar with the process so what I'm really looking to hear about are area's that have good water, areas to glass from, what kind of success people have had in the flats vs. the mountainous areas. On the hunt I was a guest on we spent most of our time East of Road 7 and North Road 20. Any knowledge of the other areas would be greatly appreciated. I was surprised to see how much of the range was visible on Google Earth but unfortunately very little of it shows names. The maps provided also lack names for areas. We are suppose to get more detailed maps the morning of the hunt. Thanks for the help and please excuse the e-scouting. Larry

    Verizon data package

I have Verizon and a blackberry and I'm very happy with it. I've been able to get reception when others have not and I've been on the forum with it as well. My aging eyes have a little trouble reading the screen but it's doable. I've even reset my fantasy football line-up at 4:30am while I was out scouting. I've never used it as a modem.
