Was in 36c this weekend and saw one buck checking a doe and one other buck that appeared to have a swollen neck. Only saw spike bucks running together. All the bigger bucks were solo.

Was down in 36c this weekend and we encountered groups of illegals every other day and we were buzzed a couple times by patroling helicopters but never had any issues with the illegals. We did however have a couple of encounters with a Jerk hunter - the first encounter, apparently because we were unknowingly glassing in his direction (we moved on after we discovered he was there), was having one of the valves ripped out of one of our tires valvestems. It obviously went down hill from there but don't want to get into that. Found one great deer we couldn't get on. Hopefully we will get him this coming weekend.

Congrats Courtney! That's a great buck and an even better story. You should be very proud of the hard work and effort you put in to get that buck! Way to go!!

I'm sorry Doug, that just doesn't live up to the standards we've become accustom to in your pictures. What's up?

Been having trouble finding disposable game bags in Tucson - We've gone to Sportsman's, 2nd Ammendment, called a couple of Wal-Marts, went by Sports Authority and by Dick's and no one has any. I'm probably Jinxing us by asking but if anyone knows another source please let me know. Come on Friday!! Thanks.

I forgot about those. Would you have any trouble have them shipped for Wednesday delivery? We leave Thursdayt to setup camp.

I was waiting for that to come back up... Give the poor guy a break. I'll have to post up a picture of the Lion I killed so he's not the only one getting teased about killing "youthful" cats. -
Need some gun purchasing advice

Seems like botht he 325 WSM and the 338 WM are two of the most talked about cartridges on some of the Alasksa Outdoor Forums. You may want to check some of them out for some advice. -
Most won't care - - 113th playing of the "Civil War"
scoutm replied to scoutm's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Exciting game for sure unfortunately youth and inexperience showed in the fourth quarter. They should be positioned well for next year. I believe the only loss on offense will be the QB but they will have last years starter back from injury so the Offense should be good to go. Just need to build up the Defense. Hopefully they get a good bowl. -

The 7th longest running rivalry game in college football will be played tonight for the 113th time and for the first time in it's history the stakes are the Rose Bowl. Go Beavers!! -
I had one put on my Model 70. Had the action properly bedded into it and after a little load development the gun shoot's lights out!! I'm very happy with it.

When your dog goes on point like that aren't you suppose to be holding your shotgun and not your camera? -
Oustanding Buck!! Congrats!! Looks like you were in some really steep country.

I tell ya after todays showing it's really hard to admit one's a Cowboy fan - that game was terrible!!

That was a very exciting game to say the least the network got their monies worth. I didn't much care who won as it doesn't really matter since Oregon State will beat the ducks in the 113 playing of the "Civil War" Returnig to the Rose Bowl for the first time since 1965! I must say I did turn to my wife in the early fourth quarter and told her the Wildcats will find a way to lose the game as the just don't know how to finish the big games against big teams. Go Beavers....OSU! OSU! OSU!

Happy B-day Brian. Hope you are having a great day.

A buddy e-mailed me this picture of a Moose. The email said it came from the Ellliot Lake area where ever that is. So, is it fact or photoshop?
-
I'd be up for it - I enjoyed the last one I attended.

That's exactly what I thought. Wouldn't it be cool if it weren't - How would you like to hang a tag on Moosezilla!

Why do Courts view employeers as evil???
scoutm posted a topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Sorry for the rant that is soon to follow... About 40 minutes ago I left the County Justice Court because a former employee is suing me for $3,900.00 stating that she was terminated and wasn't paid within the required 72 hours. The fact that a court would have even entertained the case is unbelievable. I knew I was screwed when I read the bio on the assigned Judge - a real Sotomayor in training. I'm sitting here looking at the letter of resignation from the employee which of course I provided to the judge. After enforcing a long standing policy the employee in question threw a temper tantrum and tendered her resignation with two weeks notice which we accepted. The following day the employee continued her temper tantrum which was disruptive to the day’s works so we told her we were going to go ahead and make her resignation effect that day. Unsure of our legal obligations in this situation we consulted the Arizona Administrative Code and found the appropriate legal statute which clearly states we were under no obligation to pay her outside the normal pay cycle as long as we did not make the effective date of the resignation any earlier than 15 days from the date she stated in her letter of resignation - which we did not - we made it effective 13 days early and only because she was behaving like a three year old and was being disruptive to the rest of our staff. We provided her letter of resignation, a copy of the administrative code, the policy which the employee had previously signed and acknowledged she would abide by but was now objecting to and testimony from the employees direct manager as to how she was being disruptive as justification for making her resignation effective immediately. At the end of the hearing the Judge turns to me and says that regardless of the employees resignation letter she is leaning toward ruling it wrongful discharge and if I don't find that acceptable her final ruling will provide details on how to apeal her decision. So we now have a case that shouldn't have been heard in the first place that will need to be appealed wasting everyone's time and money, an ex-employee being rewarded for behaving badly and an employer being punished for following the law. How can a judge ignore state statutes, ignore a letter written in the employee's own hand and rule against an employer? This is so messed up!! To top it off as a resignation we paid out the employee's vacation time which in a termination situation we wouldn't have had to and that only served to increase the amount the employee is going to be awarded. On my behalf please put out there postive thoughts that will make this Judge come to her senses between now and her final ruling. Thanks. -
+1 and I'll beat his price by $10 bucks.

Pulled a bonehead and put my '09 License number on my application rather than purchasing my '10 license so obviously my application was rejected. Fortunately I have the fall to salvage my loyalty point.

There was a big fire south of the Elk Horn this past spring. The fire discussed in the above posted thread was last month the Three Peaks Fire - not the elk horn fire. They are two different fires. Here's the Elkhorn Fire Thread. http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/in...hl=elkhorn+fire
