Don't camp too close to any roads or you won't get much sleep due to all the BP trucks racing around. Don't be surprised by helicopters buzzing you to see if you're an Illegal. Other than that find the past burns and glass, glass, glass.

Drawing Results Contest "OVER"
scoutm replied to Santana Outdoors's topic in Contests and Giveaways!
That's awesome! Should be a lot of fun for the two of you....That's a huge hunt area - going to be tough narrowing it down to an area to focus on. Can't wait to she the happy huntress photos. -
Enough to keep me interested but not enough to draw anything.

Happy Birthday. Hope you have a great one!

Nice. For your second post I don't think you could have done any better.

That gun is too pretty to use in the field.

I have a pair of Danner Light Hikers and I had problems breaking them in. My right heel cup kept giving me blisters. It took a full season and a half of scouting and hunting to get them where they needed to be. My recomendation is stick with them and wear a good liner and thick socks. They will break in but it's going to take some work. I love mine now. They are my second pair. First pair lasted a good 7-8 years.

Zeiss Conquest have the 4.5-14x 44 on one rifle and the 4.5-14x50 on two others rifles. All have target turrets which are awesome. The x44 scope doesn't come with turrets but you can send to Zeiss and have them place the target turrets on them for $50 per turret. I only did the elevation turret as don't want to think about taking long shots in the wind. There's one list in the classifieds now and an outstanding sponsor has them for sale too. Good luck with whatever you choose.

It's with more excitement than can be put into words that I introduce everyone to a new hunter and my son - Eli Cooper Roberts. Eli was born 3/31. He came into the world weighing 8 lbs 12 oz and 20.5 inches long. Eli's arrival has been a long time coming and the result of many emotional ups and downs for me and my wife. After years of trying to have our own child unsuccessfully, we decide to pursue adoption and thanks to a very brave young lady who chose not to take the easy way out we have been blessed with a perfect little hunting buddy. If you would please take a moment and have a encouraging thought and/or say a prayer for a wonderful young lady who made the hard choice to ensure not only life but a better life for her son. Thank you Tracy we will never be able to put into words how much you have blessed Shahla and I.

Thanks everyone. We are really enjoying this little guy.

Spoke with a guy at G&F and One of the commissioners and they've amended the draw process this year. The final step will be to survey discussion forums and for all those who drew tags and started thread like this one will have their tags pulled and given to someone more deserving.

You've done it once again Doug. Great pictures!! What's going on in picture #9? Someone confused about there being a energy vortex up there?

Not liking that trend very much...if it holds we are lookig at April Fools Day... not good.

Discovered an interesting loop hole in Utah's application process. When I filled out my applications it said I had a valid license and did not need to purchase a new license to apply (didn't even give me a chance to get a new license) so I went ahead and completed my applications without any problems. Concerned that by the time they completed the draw my license would expire and my application would get kicked out I called the office to see what I should do. The agent told me I was good to go and would not have any issues. She then went on to tell me that in the future if I time thing correctly (as i apparently did this year) I would only need to buy a hunting license once every two years as you only need the license to apply not hunt. The tag is all that's needed to hunt. I expressed doubt in what she was telling me but she insisted that was the case. Nice when the loop hole works in your favor.

What is the earliest date these kinds of rumors start circulating? This one has to be one of the earlier ones. My checks cashed last week.

Congrats to the young huntress and the proud papa. Great times well done!

I was very surprised by how good it was. I never really gave Javi's much credit but after this weekends hunt I will have to reconsider - the pork Spade L make it a taste GREAT! http://www.spadelranch.com/ Really good stuff.
