I grew up in the meat business. A lot of the old processors are no more. There are a lot of politics involved between packing houses and Millers was always the worst. They did manage to gain a monopoly on the cooler trailers in the high country, which has severely back logged their process. The reality is, politics, labor shortages, and government regulations have strangled many small guys trying to start up. I recommend asking around your community, and you'll usually find a guy willing to do it. Now days, its easy to be a backyard butcher.

I also have 40 rounds of ELDX 145 gainers. I paid 70 for the 2 boxes, asking the same.

I would add a Diamondbacks game during the playoffs, if they ever make it again.

Help! Value of these war rifles
zackcarp replied to AZJoshua's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Honestly, depends on your serial number. Anything under 800,000 is considered unsafe for modern ammunition. But a good rifle in good condition is probably in the ball park of 1200 and above. -
So as I mentioned in another thread, we bought some llamas this year in hopes of making a small side business out of it. I'm a horseman by heart, but llamas have grown in appeal to me over the years. We've done some camp trips over the summer, I took them Mule deer hunting in Colorado, but we didn't use them much. Last month a friend and I went into the backcountry to try our hand at some Colorado Elk. We took 3 llamas, 2 of which were rookies. We went a few days early to scout. We found the elk the night before opener, but due to the terrain, we decided to pack up the llamas and move closer. On the second day of the hunt, my buddy was able to harvest his first Elk. We packed half the meat out to our spike camp. We went up the next morning and a bear ate a whole hind quarter that we failed to hang high enough in the meat tree. Overall, we spent 7 days in the backcountry and packed the llamas over 22 miles of the roughest country Id care to take stock. They did phenomenal. Definitely one for the books.

So the past year has been a real roller coaster. Last year my daughter was diagnosed with Celiac Disease and it has been super tough on my daughter and family in general. We struck out on all youth tags, but picked up a 3rd choice general hunt coues tag. I wasn't sure my daughter was ready or could handle the challenge. Long story short, I'd like to thank Kev for his help. He found this buck for us opening morning, in a location my daughter would be capable to make a decent shot, and we were able to make it happen. Seeing my daughter being herself again made this one of the most memorable hunts I'll have.

On training hikes yes. But when we are in the backcountry they've been all business. If you get spat on its usually you being in the cross fire.

They are also allowed in wilderness areas where equines are not. Believe it or not, I offered water everyday on these hunts and they aren't thirsty. They get plenty of water from the dew off the grass. Its been fun for sure. We aren't at the capacity to rent out many. But we might start offering drop camps, gear, and water services. As well as pack outs. They're much more athletic than equines. It is a give and take scenario. When we hunted in Colorado, I did see a few guys running llamas in September, but in October, every camp we passed in the back country had horses and mules.

Yeah thats the hard part, trial and error. Some items that you think are GF are not. But we feel like we are starting to get a handle on it the last few months.

I eat there any time I help on a hunt in that area. Its always been good.

I just completed the online survey for my daughters deer. I like it. Doing our part to help manage the herd. This was the first time I saw them asking if it was an Adult deer or spike, then asked how many points each antler had.
