Awesome responses. I am currently using the basic plastic kind that hangs around the neck but eventually I want to upgrade and try the "electronic" ones.. heard of them but don't know what there is to offer out there. I never used ear protection in the military, lol. Between being a diesel mechanic and a 240B gunner, I haven't had any issues with hearing however the doctors did notice some scar tissue... With that said, I've been trying to be more careful.

Thanks guys, I think the best route was to get a duplicate for $4.00 without calling their number monday-friday. Now, hopefully it will come up eventually showing that I do have a license. I guess like oneshot stated, I'll just give it a few days.

Hey all, I'm trying to apply for a tag with Adam and need my hunter id/department id however this is my first license and I'm not in the system to look up under my last name. So, is there any possible way to get a hunter ID?
-
Yeah, I just got a duplicate then put mySSN as a dept id however when i try to sign in with that info it still says that no license exists... Perhaps it takes time?
-
Does this mean that my hunter id is my hunter license number?

What is a Department ID? Your department ID is your Arizona Game & Fish account number that can also be found on your hunting/fishing license. Your department ID is sometimes also referred to as a sportsmen’s ID. If you need additional assistance with the Portal or have questions, contact us at 602 942-3000 during business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and listen for the prompt.

Yup! I've used this technique. Like stated above, its just meant to get you close to zero so when you go and field test it won't take forever to zero. Another way that most of you are probably familiar with is to laser sight. "Put the cherry on the post" All these techniques including counting the ticks.. just get you closer to zero however.. what changes zero is the shooter himself/herself. Everyone has a certain "feel" of how they use their rifle which is different from another shooter. However, normally.. that "feeling difference" isn't too far off from "zero"

That's a good point.. haha Only time will answer that i guess.

"Cecil" is a dang lion and pet or not.. WILL be hunted. Just like I wouldn't have a pet deer unless I made extreme precautions to exclude him from any chance of being hunted. Overall, it's hard to determine how this situation occurred and who would be at fault but just like everything.. we need to give the guy the benefit of the doubt and assume he truly didn't know where he was and so on... therefore, it would have been the guide's responsibility to create a legal and successful hunt. Unfortunately, I do not trust most of what the media states... I've experienced first hand about the media and its corruption. For example, back in Nevada, the media had stated that there was an emergency "crash landing" in a residential area however... that was a good friend of mine who just had to land SOFTLY on the street of a neighborhood otherwise he wouldn't get another chance to land for awhile. So, that turned what was a normal average-day landing into an aviation incident/emergency. Now, going back to Mr. Cecil the lion, if this lion was truly poached with the intent of fully knowing their actions.. then yes.. I would be upset however there is no saying what truly happened and the media is too far corrupted to create a reliable story. Therefore, the man should be given the benefit of the doubt.

Not sure if this works with every breed but I kept food out all the time with my German Shepherd/Husky mix when he was a pup and now he only eats when he is hungry.

I'm no professional "gator wrestler" but he was trying to be too dang gentle with that gator. He needs to assert his dominance over that reptile! Anyway, he's lucky that gator only bit him once and let go.

IMO, it's no different than how waiters/waitresses automatically assume that they are getting a tip. What happened to tipping people for the GOOD quality service that was provided.. Now, they expect a "good tip" for doing their dang job! Overall, if they want a tip then they should work a bit harder for it and put a smile on. Same goes for subcontractors and FS, if they wan't more money then MORE services should be actually provided. (just my rant)

Hello and good evening everybody! I plan on doing a hike out nearby to investigate an area I'm interested in hunting for rabbits/coyotes and possibly quail/dove when the season is open however should I just do some hiking/scoutingand then come another day to hunt or try to call in a few coyotes while investigating the area? I'm sure both could be done.. I'm looking for what you guys would choose to do and perhaps the "logical" reasoning behind it.

To hunt or to scount when in a new area?
TonyC replied to TonyC's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
Haha, nice. I worry about taking shots sometimes out of scaring anything within the area/radius. -

That's kind of what I had in mind. -
Depends on where you are at.. I know I needed one for any access to the lakes and parking near the Salt River.
