I would like to use a larger caliber but I am limited as I do not own one, borrowing a buddies. Thought that I would have owned one by now but things didn't pan out that way. I'm an archery addict so this rifle stuff is somewhat new to me...thanks again guys Lance-I'll be down in 35b for my hunt this weekend

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good ballistics website? I've checked out chuckhawks.com but are there any other good ones out there?

Are there any ranges in Tucson where I can get my rifle sighted in? Just went out to Oracle to shoot and had to leave due to quad runners in the area. Appreciate any info... Nate

Are there any good networks out there to subscribe to as far as hunting/fishing? Everything that I seem to catch is eastern whitetail hunting or bass fishing. I'd LOVE to see some shows that focus on big game and fishing in the southwest, specifically AZ.

Good luck!

For as much hunting as the Primos guys do, does anyone know if or how often they hunt in AZ? I know they do a lot of elk hunting in Colorado, muleys also but I have never seen a tape where they are in AZ..

I have been hanging around this website for quite some time. I am very impressed with all the hunting information that is here on this board. I have been hunting for 2 years now and took my first game this past january (archery javelina). I was drawn this fall for an archery bull tag in one of the northern units, I have hunted this unit before for cow elk with my bow but was unsuccesful (no surprise there). I was just wondering what methods all of you who have been succesful or unsuccesful with a bull tag use when hunting bulls? Spot and stalk? Calling? Sitting trails? I know that it all depends on how hard the rut is going during that time, but what is your primary method? During my cow hunt I came across a lot of bulls within close range (go figure) so I know the area pretty well. I'm just looking for ADVICE on how you all hunt these beautiful creatures with huge horns. Thanks a lot and this is a great site!

Thanks for all the great information all... Doug-I made the comment about my archery cow hunt just because I know that the success rates in general for that hunt are pretty low. I'm just really nervous about having this tag, and I think that gets relayed as low confidence. I am taking everyones advice on this board though and I appreciate it. Lots of good info over here... I'm glad that this hunt is pushed back a bit as last year there was minimal talking if any where I was hunting. I spent a couple weeks prior to the hunt scouting and didn't hear them talking too much then either.

Thanks...I do have the hoochie mama call, I was also looking into some of the mouth calls as they seem to be a little more conveniant.. Thanks Travis...I had some minor experience on my cow hunt last year...walked by a raghorn with a buddy and we were able to call him into about 30 yards with the hoochie mama....it was pretty neat

Thanks for the info....you mentioned not trying to call the bull to me...I have heard that another method is to use a bugle to locate a bull, and then move towards them, is this a good option?
