Headed out to Ashurst before the end of the day, the bite was slow for me but the weather and scenery made up for that. Enjoy

3rd Annual Flagstaff Area CWT.com Get-Together!!!!!
ndaniel replied to Lance's topic in CouesWhitetail.com Get-togethers!
Just an FYI for everyone, if you are coming up on Friday prior to 5pm they are doing some construction on Lake Mary Rd so there might be small delays here and there. Nothing too serious though. -

The 35's have some huge whitetail, I've hunted 35B for the past 4 years. The smuggling is getting a lot worse, this past season a couple good friends of mine glassed up 3 different groups of smugglers in 4 days of hunting. The deeper and nastier you get the better off you are.

My first close-lion-encounter...

Sweet pics man! What happened after you took the pics? Any luck on sheds? -
Thanks, they were about 200 yards out when I took the pics, and about 800 when I first glassed them up

Wanted to see what LLM had in store for the season, doesn't look too promising. This was taken about a 1/4 mile from the dam, it'll dry up fast. Then I headed out for a short afternoon trip to look for some sheds, didn't find any but was able to glass up a few antelope herds one of which had a pretty decent buck. It was really windy out, I can't wait for it to start warming up. Closer view

Since archery season is starting up pretty soon here I've been asking myself what it would take for me to blow my early November coues tag. Since I live in mule deer county I keep telling myself that a 160"+ mule deer would do, but then again I still have that disappointed feeling in my gut of not being able to hunt down south for my rifle coues tag. Darn those coues deer! So I guess my question is, when archery hunting what would it take for you to blow your rifle coues deer tag? Nate

I guess it has a lot to do with the fact that I enjoy hunting coues a lot more than I do mule deer. SO if I am going to shoot a mule deer I'd want it to be SOMEWHAT respectable. To each their own, I'd pass on a spike, forky or a small 2 point with my bow to be able to hunt coues in November, but that's just me. These coues have me addicted, and not being able to hunt one because I stuck a forky/spike muley in August would eat me up, BUT then again it is a deer with a bow. Just thought I'd throw it out and see what everyone else would do with the given situation.

I shot the Reflex Buckskin for about 2 1/2 years and loved it. I did replace the string to Shooters Edge after a year and it shot even better. Then I bought a Ridgeline 34, it's super smooth from draw to release. Unfortunately I shot a Bowtech just to check them out, ended up selling my Buckskin to by my Bowtech. Reflex is still a great brand and I would highly recommend their line for someone starting out, heck I'd recommend them to anyone.

Looking at picking up a stabilizer for my Bowtech this week. What do you guys use?
