One thing I was looking at last night. The 260 terminator, 35° improved with a stepped throat, shows a max charge of 53gn rl26 using a drop tube and seated at 2.97. 6.5sst has a 30° shoulder and a max load of 54-55gn of rl26 seated at 2.800. 6.5sst has the option of h1000, which is supposed to be a cooler burning powder but Im not sure how well that slow powder will work in a 22 barrel. 6.5sst also has a neat option to be a reduced load with h4895, which would essentially take it down to creedmoor speeds with super low pressure. 6.5 sst also as the option of being throated to seat bullets out longer. Its 2.8 coal is setup for prs guys. Lapua brass is a real winner but my current lot of ADG brass for my creedmoor is super consistent and seems to hold up well after only 5 firings. Sst will have ADG brass available this summer.

The damnn terminator gets me every time. Not only is it a cool round, the name alone will drop panties!!!

I wish they would of never came out with the portal. Do you guys sit there and look at your points all day?
-
The only issue with the terminator is your starting out with a stepped throat.

One of these days my nightforce will sell, then Ill replace it with a kahles 525i I believe. Which will be about 35oz. Depending on lance review of the March, that migh b a good direction as well being under 25oz. If you guys ever have a chance to meet with lance at the range, I suggest you stay home. At the very least take your contacts out!!!

I started a thread what to build. Lots of 6.5 ideas bounced around.

Definitely not a strict backpack rifle since itll wear a 2lb scope. But lighter is nice.

Barrel is already bought, and 22 is what I prefer. Nothing but backpack hunts from here on out for the most part. Compact is key for me. 6.5 sst seemed bad butt but already having a 7ss for stretching it long makes me wanna stay with a .473 head. Sounds like creedmoor vs 260ai. both have Lapua brass. Both should deliver close to 2000 rounds? Makes eating a $700 barrel not as painful if it will last 4-6 years of fun. I was all about 26 plus brake barrels but after the last 10 years my longest shot is in the neighborhood of 475 yards. I would probably cap my coues hunts at 800 yards. More speed makes wind calls easier but I really enjoy a shorter profile.

Ive got a 6.5 creedmoor currently, by the time i have everything I need for this one I will have a 7ss as well. So maybe a 260ai, 7ss, and rebarrel current creedmoor to a 22 creedmoor? Always enjoy hearing opinions and debates from you guys. In the end its all just money and fun but a guy can only watch lance build so many cool rifles until he has to build his own 🤣🤣

Will be used as a repeater with a 2.95 Max OAL

For you creedmoor guys using Lapua brass, are you able to lean on it and see a noticeable difference in velocity over LRP brass? Concerning 260ai where you can stuff it full of rl26, is that harder on throats than a stiff charge of 4350?

Would a #4 contour handle a fast 6.5?

Buying new ptg bolt, so standard 260 terminator I do like the terminator, plus side is buying formed Lapua brass from Shawn.

Found a box that had some of my reloads in it. These are Berger 130 AR hybrids at 100 yds.

Good to see some local stores in Payson not selling their forewood to campers.
