If you're concerned about weight go with the KUIU. It's about half the weight of the Outdoorsmans. I've had both.

Was looking at the Swarovski Z3 with the ballistic turret as an option. This scope does not have a side focus or parallax adjustment. How important is this feature if shots are 500 yards or less?

Selling a Remington Model 700 Long Range in 7mm Rem Mag. Bought this rifle new in July of 2015 so it's only 7 months old. Bad knee has me trying to lighten up all my gear. Rifle and bases only and I'll throw in any ammo I have. Paid $758 out the door from Sportsmans Warehouse. Shoots 154 grain Hornady Superformance very well out to 600 yards. Good topic. I'm contemplating the same thing. Love my 700 Long Range in 7mm Rem Mag but a bad knee has me trying to cut weight with all my hunting gear. Thinking of selling it and moving to a lighter set up.

Had that tag opening weekend. We had 6 tags in camp and 4 of us tagged out. Big canyons with scrub oak in the bottom seem to be the ticket. Three of the bucks we shot were found as they were leaving their beds and feeding around the scrub oaks in the early evening. Mine still had an acorn in his mouth when I got to him. Best of luck.

Upgrade my rifle or scope. Currently shooting a Weatherby Vanguard in .270 wsm topped with a Vortex Viper HS 4-14X44. Can only upgrade one. Either a Remington 700 Long Range or a Zeiss Conquest 5-20X50.
