That was my prairie falcon from 2016. She was awesome up until the end of the season. She became a b***h at the end so I released her. Plan on trapping another one this year. Prairies can be a handful

I've been into falconry for several years now. Its never to late to jump into the sport but does take some time management! ive had the oportunity to fly an eagle but never my own, will eventually one day but ive flown several hawks and falcons. eagle need alot of space to fly and you tend to put 5+ miles on the boots every outing when flying eagles. its definitely a blast. Will be trapping 2 new falcons this year to fly this season.

I have a good gunsmith in mesa that worked for McMillian for over a decade. Just got my rifle back on Sunday and work was awesome. He does work out of his garage now and doesn't charge an arm and a led but does great work! He trued and blue printed, put new sendero barrel on, threaded and put a muzzle break on, bedded it in a new stock, and put on and adjusted new trigger, and cut and threaded my bolt arm for new knob for under $1000 I'll post some pics up later when i get a chance.

2016 Desert Hawking Classic Falconry meet is in the books! Had an awesome time with my wife and friends! All together we had just under 100 falconers show up from Az and a couple other states. Took over 175 game in 3 days of hawking. My Harris Hawk took 3 jacks and 4 cotton tail. She had a rough start as she crashed a concrete pile pretty hard so had here on rest for some time. Got to watch golden eagles catch jack, gos hawk, cooper's hawk, sharpy, aplo falcon, and a feruginus. Looking forward to the next meet! Got some great videos I will post later.

Yea there are non falconers that come out to watch and help kick the prush. Also have apprentice workshops for people interested in learning about and how to get into Falconry. Season is over right now. Everyone is either releasing there birds or putting them up for the molt. Won't start hunting them until September/October -

Aplomado falcon is the one eating the cotton tail. My wife is holding a male golden eagle. Females are even bigger -
Besides scouting for big game hunts coming up ill also be scouting to find some new areas close to town on the westside that I can fly my Harris hawk after jacks and cotton tails. She's done for the season now and started molting her feathers. Will be at it again next fall. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Your best bet to find a sponsor is to go to a falconry meet. Next one is in kingman january 28-31. Best advise I can give you is go to the meet. Make some friends with faloners in your area and go hawking with them. Then ask about them sponsoring you. If you study and pass the test before all that then you'll put yourself ahead of the game and they will take you more serious as you've already passed the exam and are ready for the next step. -

Took a road trip to Albuquerque this weekend to fly with some friends and family and met some new falconers from back east. We flew a bunch of birds and took a bunch of game. Flew 2 big Gyr/Saker hybrids, 2 aplomados and 5 Harris Hawks. Great weekend cut a little short but was work the trip. -

You have to know the diseases that are common in raptors. Part of the test you have to pass to get a falconry license. Wild birds live up to 5 years if they make it past the first year. Captive birds live up to 15 years -

I've give her a little bit to eat if I want to keep hunting or let her fill up and head home. Falconry is based off weight management of your bird. -
