Drew my first tag for coues deer in 6A! Super excited. Have mulies, antelope, elk experience and now can't wait to chase the grey ghost! Been doing as much research as I can. It's in November. If anyone would like to offer some behavior information, I would appreciate it. Not looking for your spots. Just tendencies of coues. I know they are territorial. Wondering about watering, feeding, bedding habits. Thanks for any info you are willing to share!

Yeah, he was a mid 70's buck. Nothing huge. But wasn't trophy hunting. Just out to enjoy my time with my son. We were by new harpo tank. Must have been 5 dead cattle at that tank!

I was right on the intersection of 305 and 340, just NW of Red Butte. Big old water tank there, not far from the old air field. We were off the 347 road. Everywhere that we scouted before season must have been where almost everybody else did also. We took a nasty two track that was puddles of water most the way and found a buck that was away from everyone so it worked out for us opening morning.

Congrats on a nice lope! What road were you camped off of? I was up there also.

Just tried them for the first time with great results! 490 yards and the antelope dropped where it stood. I will continue to use as long as I can find them. Certain calibers and grains are on backorder everywhere I look.

A family member did and had hair in some of there steaks. I personally have never used them. Used both Caseys and coconino and had good results with both.

Thanks average Joe, that's the info I was looking for! Just trying to figure out where to position myself while glassing at that time of year. I'm normally a archery hunter so most of the time I'm at water or trying to cut them off! Little different strategy this time!

Thanks for all the info on spots. Wasn't looking for it, but honestly appreciate it. I have listened to Jay Scott's podcasts. That is what got me interested in hunting coues. I will get out this weekend and start my search. Good luck to everyone this year on your adventures.

Thanks for the info. I do appreciate it. But I'm not looking for everyone's spots. I know what kind of work and time it takes to find these spots. And I am willing to put some boots on the ground and do the same. Just trying to figure out what coues tend to do in November. Do they tend to drink more in the mornings or night? Things like that. Tactics that you use to be successful in November. I have read a few things on here and listened to a few podcasts about coues. Just trying to soak up as much info about them as I can. Thanks

Still trying to figure out how people "harvest an elk!?"

I guess I should have been a little more specific and said elk are throughout most the north half of the unit.

Congrats on the tag! Been in 6b a little bit! The good. Have been in lots of elk in that unit. Usually lots of tanks so elk are throughout the unit. Very few places I haven't run into sign of them around. Has a quiet area so you can try to get away from people. The bad. Lots of roads! Even though many are closed, people will drive them anyway! Elk get pushed around a lot because of that. The unit is divided by sacamore canyon which is huge. I personally haven't seen any on the southern half. Not saying they aren't there, just haven't seen any. So again, lots of pressure on the north half. Good luck, I'm sure I can add more later, just really tired right now!
