hunt 1099 11/27 12/3 unit 30a WT
-
Started when I was 11 years old, had hunted with my Father as a observer for a few years before that. This was Indiana early 70's. I remember the feeling of being left alone in my blind before daylight and watching my dad walk off into the darkness. How every sound was amplified and how I couldnt wait for enough light to be able to see. I had a recurve and shot fingers, only had 3 arrows as I remember and 2 that matched. I was hooked right from the beginning, the excitement when animals were seen was and still is a rush. I took my first deer, a doe, when I was 14. Made a terrible shot but was able to still seal the deal. It was a feeling of pride when my family and I sat down and had meals that came from that doe. I think it is a feeling that only hunters come to realize, and being a 14 year old kid it was extra special. Its still a great feeling today. Ron

I must admit I am not very versed in the laws that go with ATV riding. I think maybe I have relied on word of mouth more than actually reading for myself. I can see where it would be easy to be in violation when you might have thought all was ok. I hope somehow you get out of the tickets, or at least the cost of them. If someone has a link to the rules of the road maybe putting it here would be a help. Maybe even a sticky for future reference? Ron

Can I ask you what you mean by "sent you a tag"?
-
I had a young guy at the optics counter at Cabelas tell me he was doing exactly that and it worked great. I am skeptical myself. I have one doubler and really only use it on my 10x42 EL as a spotter occasionally. It is marginal using it that way IMO. Ron

I saw 2 last October during the early rifle whitetail hunt. These were on the east side of Mt Wrightson. Had no idea they were in there. -
I have an adaptor for the SLC type bino's. Will fit all I believe except for the EL's. 1 year old $85 shipped. Ron

Mounting binocs and spotting scope, finally did it
ibowhuntaz replied to elpepe25's topic in Optics and tripods
Sportsmans warehouse sells a Leica adaptor, has the rubber hinge that comes over the top, I can put my binos and spotting scope on at the same time, works pretty good. -
I have the Pentax 16 power and for the price they really work pretty well. Weight isnt bad and clarity is pretty good. The only problem I had with them was the way they fit my eyes, had to keep the eyecups down while glassing from a tripod. Now as others have stated they are not Swaro, Zeiss, or Leica quality. I have the Swaro 15's now so the pentax are just in the safe, might be willing to sell if your interested. Ron

Second chance to pay tag fees for any one who applied online
ibowhuntaz replied to MT. CAT's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I voted yes, I think the whole thing is kind of BS. Why not accept personal checks? Why not set it up so you could go online and pay with a credit card if drawn? I sent my M/O and then called this week too see if received and the lady told me she has no idea and wouldnt know until someitme next week, and that tags will not go out for another week after that. Plenty of time for personal checks to clear. I give em credit for getting rid of the vendor but there backup plan to pay sucks. -

1st muzzleloader suggestions
ibowhuntaz replied to r p coulter's topic in Muzzleloader hunting for Coues Deer
I have a Knight Wolverine, .50 cal. It shoots very well, i use 100 grains pyrodex and 348 gr powerbelt. I try to keep it a little traditional, (just my own preference) by not using scope. They are alot of fun to shoot and hunt with however you do it. I would look at getting a .50 cal as minimum just because some states require that, also pay attention to the rate of twist for the barrel, 1/28 is what I have on mine and it handles most bullet sizes very well. -
Not much chance it will get to 3rd on list but put me down as next.
