Seeing the 108 degrees projected today (and it isn't even June yet!), I was thinking about all the family things that can be done to deal with the heat. We recently bought POGO passes. https://www.pogopass.com/ You get passes to the zoo, Dbacks tickets, Rattlers tickets, ASU sports venues, Skateland, etc. There was some offer where my wife got them for $40 each. They last for a year. Besides going scouting in your hunt unit, and hiking some areas up north, what have other people done to handle the heat??

Holy moly, that sounds rough! You put icepacks under your arms??

Broadhead Target from Sportsman Warehouse [ FOR TRADE]
PhxDT replied to PhxDT's topic in Classified Ads
20" cube -
Looking for a trade for hunting gear. Can put in cash if needed. Open to anything, really. Lots of elk game bags, tripod, GPS, a cheap trail camera, havalon knives, frame pack...I am fairly lean on hunting equipment and won't be using this target. The broadhead target itself has probably 15 shots into it total, in one use. This was back a few years ago, and I would assume someone else would benefit from its use.

OK- all of you up north...don't rub it in! Yes, May hasn't been bad, but this month is usually followed by June, July and August.

Add: Kaffer62 Bought a backpack from him. Great dude.

Yup, I knew it was serious, but he told me it was his back. Glad he's fully recovered. Important point, and thanks for adding color to it.

Total rookie move. I went to pickup my first shoulder mount in my 4runner. I get there, and there was zero chance of getting it in. I did, however take a photo of it. It won't score well because of the small G3's but its mine. It took 2.5 years to get it ready. Great memories. Now, I have been able to persuade my wife to put it in our living room (we have 18 foot celings and we can hide it in a spot up there). Her primary worry is it attracting bugs. Please tell me she has nothing to worry about!

impressive work. Love that you took the tiny humans with you.

Things your huntin buddies do that drive you nuts : )

oh yah. Put me in for that one. -
Nice bucks. Welcome.

I am a fan of 12 AW late hunt. Bucks are great, and the beauty of the area is really stunning. If you appreciate the surroundings like I do, that pushes it up the list.

Far less secrets anymore. Agreed.

Thank you for everyone's comments. We talked it through, walked through the matching process- showing how he numbers all the cape. I believe this is my cape, it was likely damaged by the tannery I think. We spent plenty of time looking at my pictures and how the cape looks now. He agreed to put a new cape on it, which I appreciated. In the mean time, I get to take it home and display it in my living room. Since it is 12' up, it'll be harder to notice the flaws.

Thanks for the opinion- not offended, just looking for the reasonable solution. If I waited this long, I am worried how long it would be before it is fixed.

Between my buddy and I we have 13 mounts completed by Chris Krueger and none of them took longer than a year to get back. Congrats on your bull. Its always a long wait, but end the end, you have the best type of artwork money can buy. Chris Krueger has done my last 4 pieces (plus one currently there). It was about 13 months for my last deer. The longest any of them took. His work is amazing. But 2.5 years is crazy talk. I am sorry for his health issues, but no way. I do agree it is a great bull. Congrats. And your wife would HATE my house..... Haha, I am guessing we'd get along. Also, I'd appreciate a PM from those of you who are experienced with mounts and have a balanced way I should discuss it with the taxi. I just checked a picture from 2012 and the cape was really thick and full. The picture i showed up top doesn't look close. I'd like to bring it up to them, but I want to be reasonable and respectful.

How would I know if it slipped? I noticed the same thing. I wonder if the hide was handled properly, but this is my first mount. I had a seasoned buddy with me who helped me cape it properly. I rolled up the cape and took that out as the first load. I wouldn't imagine it was mishandled by me, but don't know. did you get the cape on ice ? It was at the taxi the next day, and it was a cool night. I don't recall if I had it on ice or not...it was a long time ago, ha. Still happy to have one on the wall.

Yes, thanks for asking. My neighbor and I are setup for this Saturday.

Yah, wish him the best. Seems like a great guy. Unless I have a record breaking bull, this'll be my last trophy- and I got lucky to get this one approved! I can't be the only one, right??

Haha, yah. Long time coming.

R and R. Feel bad for Bill, he had back surgery that set him back a bit on his schedule. I harvested this one back in Dec 2012.

That's pretty funny. The bull scored 306. .....BOB! was right on there. -Cody: what do you think of R and R?
