    Desert Bighorn Tag

Isn't that the only reason you are going to be there? with my optics it will be hard to tell thats for sure. You're not the only one giving me a hard time Dave, you don't know how many times I've checked and rechecked my bank account for the $300 hit after one of you said it was a charging error from the GnF, especially since my account was also hit for $345 for a resident and non-resident coues tag so far the $300 charge is still there and yes I will check again when I get done posting here. Thanks all I will keep you updated on my scouting and hunt.

The Black Sure isn't What it used to be

Good choice on a place to have your ashes spread, years ago I spread my brothers ashes in that area one of his favorite places before he passed. I will agree with your assessment on the Black River area granted the Wallow fire has a lot to do with the problems and scenery of the area, I have to wonder if the new paved road all the way to Alpine has given more access to the area causing the congestion and trash.

    4b rifle tag

That's the beauty of rifle antelope hunting. It's like shooting fish in a barrel. Drive around. Glass, find one that looks good and blast him. yep just like bc777 said "like shooting fish in a barrel". there are some nice goats in 4B, I took this one out of there last year.

    Are they done gobbling?

In Lovett William's book "Hunting the Gould's Wild Turkey in Mexico" he talks about hunting the Gould's in the Sierra Madre's as early as first part of April into mid-May, but the peak is late April to early May. He also goes on to say in Arizona and New Mexico they will gobble into mid-June. I have helped and hunted several Gould"s here in Arizona and have to say the peak here is right around the same as down in Mexico. Personally the later I hunt the better the hens are usually laying on their eggs and the bigger, older more mature Tom's are much easier to call in.
