Swarovski EL 12x50 Swarovision and SLC 15X56 WB
TRKHNTR replied to out4blood's topic in Optics and tripods
I carry them in a kuiu xl harness. I used them off hand while hiking, they seem very stable to me. I traded my Kuiu harness in for a Sherpa I got to old and my optics to heavy for me to pack it around. What do you mean by Sherpa? Sherpas are highly regarded as elite mountaineers and experts in their local terrain. They were immeasurably valuable to early explorers of theHimalayan region, serving as guides at the extreme altitudes of the peaks and passes in the region, particularly for expeditions to climb Mount Everest. Today, the term is often used by foreigners to refer to almost any guide, climbing supporter or PORTER hired for mountaineering expeditions in the Himalayas, regardless of their ethnicity. -

TRKHNTR replied to Little Creek Calls's topic in Turkeys!
See you there! check out some of calls Ammon (Little Creek Calls) has there great sounding box and pot calls I just purchased some myself recently. -
Just about everywhere I stopped in 27 yesterday I heard a gobble, and I was just picking random area's not any of my favorite spots. Good luck.
-
the later in the season the better IMHO.
-
They are gobbling good in 1, 3B and 27.
-
I will be out listening for gobblers on the roost so it will be a great time to see it.
-
these camps are a great time so if you can call turkey volunteer as a mentor, please. these are the hunters I took out last year.
-
No birds this year had a few missed opportunities called in several jakes (which we will not shoot my philosophy is you will never shoot a big one if you shoot the small ones) and hens. Only thing shot in camp was this hog. Will be heading back next year with a few older birds waiting for us.

I'm still interested in some just got back into town I'll get things squared away and send some $$$

very true there are turkey "EVERYWHERE" in 12A. If you can't call attend one of those turkey hunting seminars Ammon at Little Creek Calls is putting on.
-
Good luck, hope you find someone to hunt with I always hunt the second hunt the later the hunt the better as far as I'm concerned.
-
Great hunt good luck to all.
-
My favorite of all turkey to hunt.
-
I would not have a problem helping your Aunt out this year as long as they are Osceola what part of Florida?
-
looked like to me his antlers got stuck between two of the main branches and he couldn't back out.
-
Cool Ammon how did you do in the contest? The competition is very tough there are a lot of guys out there that have been making calls for years. If you have never been to the convention you need to go at least once it is a great time. I can see spending a lot of $$ when we meet up do you sell strikers individually?

I use the Outdoorsman's Tall with the Swarovski 95mm objective lens and it does a great job holding this heavy lens steady.
