I totaled the advertised weights of all components and got 9.5lbs... that isn't considering mill work on the receiver to open up for the extended box or opening up the stock for that barrel contour. I will get it onto a good scale this week.

I owe you an answer on that. I believe the entire set up (minus bipod), but with Mk4 base and rings will be under 9lbs unloaded.

Great pics!

Awesome-- just another reason why this is the best forum I've been on!

Looks great! What did you use for the finish?

Haven't used the Kuiu Teton but if you want light and packable I think the Kryptek Poseidon is a great value. Easy to find a set on the 'bargain' websites and it packs down tight. I've worn it several times during all day sits in the treestand here in KY during drizzle and outright rain and it stayed dry. Should be able to find it for $100ish per piece (top/bottom)

Looks like Ramon's Village??
Check out "Gofish Belize" and ask for Abby (Abner) he was a helluva guide and I was able to get on, unscheduled, in 48hrs. We had a blast out there and he tailored the trip to exactly what I was looking for.

Apparently Cabelas credit cards haven't been hit yet.... anytime now!!! lol

Build a dummy round to 3.6" and see if you can chamber it.
I'd also make sure your magazine dimensions will allow for 3.6" otherwise you'd end up single shot...

Signed..... Makes me sick.
FBI director basically defines her actions as gross negligence (which is criminal when dealing with TS/SCI/SAP info) and she skates away. Me or any of my guys accidentally carry a cell phone into the SCIF and we are toast!!

CW-- What lake are yall fishing? I live in KY and just went bowfishing around LBL for the first time and had a blast!!!
I hope they hit the 8th but I don't want to turn on my notifications because I'm towing my boat back to Tennessee the 4th to pre fish for a week for the U.S Open bowfishing tournament Saturday the 9th. I'm sure with expenses to shoot the worlds largest bowfishing tournament my card will have way more hits than I anticipate. Debt and hunting/bowfishing go hand in hand! Good luck in the the draw. Hope I come home to a card hit for something for the fall.

Pelican... it is the only one to trust. There's a reason they're used by the military for everyone from M4s to $$$$$ commo equipment.

SAAMI spec chamber?

Great info on the boxes and on the powders! Thanks for the help. Keep yall updated when the guns are back in hand.

Great to know! This is a bit of a jump up into different powders from loading for my .243 and 6.5x284.
Any thoughts or experience with RL33, H50BMG, RL50?
-
Sounds good-- leaning towards the MBE3 (3.825 with spring and follower). Should give enough length to adjust COAL and tweak handloads. Starting with 180vlds and Retumbo but have 7828ssc, H1000 and RL33 available. Any thoughts on those??
Not worried about follow up shots-- I totally agree with your philosophy there.

All,
I have a 7RUM build at the gunsmith now. Base action was a 300RUM BDL. It is getting a 26" Proof Sendero Light and a McM Game Scout Edge.
To increase the COAL I was looking at Wyatt's Magazine Boxes. I don't want the DBM with $80 magazines and the extra weight. I want to keep my BDL bottom metal and get to 3.825 or possibly even 4.000 of COAL.
Wyatt's has 3 boxes I'm looking at-- the CFE-9 (3.990 inside, center feed design) or the CFE-12 (3.825, center feed).... OR the MBE-3 (3.825 inside, stagger feed).
Any advise on which way to go?? Center vs Stagger and 3.825 vs 3.990??
Thanks!
Which factory ammo to extend range/accuracy of my .270?

I had great luck with HSM in 25/06, 7RM and 30/06.
I am glad to hear that the Hornady Precision Hunter line is performing well. I think that you will get your best bang for the buck if they offer it in .270. It would not surprise me if we see that line of ammo go up in price a bunch as it gets more popular.
