  1. Howard Leight- Impact Sport Electronics--- normally $50-60 online but theyre on sale often.

    https://www.cabelas.com/product/IMPACT-SPORT-ELECTRONIC-EARMUFF/2225038.uts?slotId=0

They work great at indoor ranges, outdoor ranges, rifles, pistols, sporting clays.

And- if multiple people are using them just wipe em off right quick with a baby wipe.

Mine get used at least once a week (since March) and then get tossed into my truck or range bag-- zero issues and none of the other officers have had issues either so thats a sample size of 18.

  2. Aren't there normally two major accuracy nodes-- generally one at lower pressure/velocity and one at higher?? Maybe it's possible you are both right-- MMAC- maybe you didn't find the high node-- or that cartridge bullet combo just doesn't like to be pushed fast in the case of a 6.5cm.

I'm also one to believe that you want to push Barnes hard because they are generally 'light for caliber' and require velocity for proper expansion. To me it seems that the point of Barnes in most cartridges used for deer to elk sized game is to push them hard and fast for a flat trajectory at hunting distances and to achieve proper expansion.

  4. So I just bought a Tikka T3x Lite and now looking for a nice scope, around $500 is what I want to spend. I can get a deal for a Leupold VX-3I 4.5-14x40 with a side focus and Leupold's CDS turret for $500 dollars. Any thoughts on this scope or any others? (My Tikka is chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor and I don't plan on shooting past 500 yards on an animal.)

Any reason not to go 30mm tube and 50mm obj lens? I see those listed quite often on forums well within your price range. I like the wind-plex reticle reticle that they offer as well- dial elevation and hold windage if you need to. If you think you want more magnification- keep your eyes peeled- lots of VX3 (not 'i') model 6.5-20x selling now for relatively cheap as well.

  5. The way they explained it to me, was your licenses had to be valid at the close of the draw.

And thats how they explained it to me- on the 12th you have to have a valid license in your hand-- if it expires after the 12th and you draw you simply have to have a new license before you start your hunt. I think standman had a pic of the reg.
