Bro getting married - gift from me - charter boat?
Ed67 replied to Big or Bust's topic in The Campfire
My son in law took a hard side cooler down and checked it with his gear along with some duct tape. On the way back he wrapped his cooler, checked it and carried on the rest of his clothing. It’s really not too difficult -

I bought one of those shoulder carry bag style soft insulated coolers. My son brought one as well. The outfit I went with took the tuna to the local processor where they cut, vacuum packed and froze the tuna. We packed in our coolers and carried them in. Stayed frozen all the way. -

Bro getting married - gift from me - charter boat?

We stayed at the Playa Del Sol and it was cheap maybe 80 a night. Very basic rooms on the beach, decent pool, outdoor bar, decent little restaurant and they will make you a sack lunch for the boat for a few bucks. I need to get back there. We went down in July about 5 years ago and caught a bunch of Tuna and one billfish on a super panga. Sharks ate a few of our tuna on the way up. -

If willing to fly to Mexico, consider Los Barriles. Fly to Cabo then hire a shuttle to drive about 60 miles north and charter a boat. Cheap flights, lodging, food and fishing is great. There are several reasonably priced hotels down there -

Get an ice water therapy machine with the shoulder harness off Amazon and overuse it. I had surgery for a torn rotator and labrum 8 years ago and was back to work in 2 weeks.

I have a pair of Carhartts. Good, heavy pant, good in brushy/sticker areas. That being said I don’t wear them hunting. I sit and stand a lot and the crotch of the pant is high and by the end of the day your crotch gets pretty beat up. These are the heavy tan pants. Maybe they have a better design with the camo hunting pants.

Scouted it several times a few years back in the summer when I had close to enough points to draw archery. Didn’t see many elk June-August but heard there were a bunch come September. I put in for a different unit

Last week I had an impeller pump failure at Alamo. Likely the impeller came apart before I even went out there. At the lake it wasn’t peeing water at neutral or in gear. I replaced the impeller and pump housing because the impeller melted and clogged the discharge tube. Now the motor pees water at neutral but in gear at idle/accelerate it does not. Any thoughts? Thermostat or other? Anyone ever have similar issues? TIA

I figured it out after removing and replacing about 5 times. . I was missing the rubber gasket in the pump housing. Once I replaced it the pressure was great.

Great deal, spent about 8 days in my tent during a late 12AW hunt 4 years ago running the small one/long hose and the tent temps were very comfortable. GLWS

I usually hit Alamo once every spring and figured this morning was a good time to go after hearing good reports. Loaded up late and drive out about 10am. I’m definitely not a big time fisherman but have gone regularly since my teens. I’m 56 now. I backed my dads hand me down 14’ Mirrocraft into the water and immediately noticed a leak near the stern where a rivet was missing. No biggie, I always carry JB Weld. Pulled up out of the water, dried it then inserted a small screw with the JB Weld. Gave it about an hour then headed back down. Got in the water, no leak, and fired up my 8HP Yamaha 4 stroke and immediately noticed it wasn’t pumping out water. Shut it off. Oh well I’ll just use the trolling motor and cruise around near shore/ramp area to pick up a few bass. Started to hook up the motor and oopsie, the positive side alligator clip was missing. Limped back to shore and went home lol. It’s all on me, bad preparation. Maybe next year 😮
