I like this idea. If we each rent a sat phone then we don't have to be tied down to one phone booster (or spend hundreds each to have one) plus we can carry it in our packs. Do you have the name of the place you rented it? Mobal at www.mobal.com.

Try renting a sat phone. I rented one last year on my sons n kaibab hunt and it worked great. I think it was about 70 bucks for the week and they shipped it to my door

I've had this hunt twice and killed one bull with opportunities on both hunts. Both times the first two days were good then quiet until the last three. A lot of people hunt the weekends and go home during the week. The second week, M-th seemed like I had the unit to myself. I usually hunt the south central area. Good luck.

g5 cmax rest unopened box and g5 havoc broadheads
Ed67 replied to huntermncb's topic in Classified Ads
I'm interested in the broad heads. Are you interested in any 38, 357 or 45acp ammunition? I won't be through show low until summer but both kids go to school in flagstaff and come home a few times a month. I live in Laveen. I'll pay cash if you don't want ammo and no hurry on my side. No archery tag. -
Nice bull, thanks for sharing

Can anyone offer suggestions on loads for the 270wsm? Bullet, powder, primer. I shoot a Remington 700. With factory loads my gun likes the 140 gr accubonds. Thx.
-
Many thanks to all of you. I figured its time to start reloading this caliber since I've accumulated about 220 pieces of brass and my son bought me a 270wsm die last November. If any of you reload 243, 35.5 grains of imr3031 and 100 gr. nosler partition shoots great out of my ruger m77mkII. Prolly taken 6 coues, 1 Wyoming antelope and 5 mile deer.

Thank you, I have the powder and will try it out.

Here's a pic of my wife and nephew on her 22 north late bull hunt from 2005. My nephew had a tag also but went home empty. Opening morning was overcast with heavy fog due to rain the previous three days including opening day. About an hour into it, the fog burned off and we were surrounded by 7 branch antlered bulls with the closest one being 350 yards and farthest around 800.. The rain was still coming down and when she fired at the closest bull, but it was hard to tell the bull was hit. She fired again with the 270wsm and the bull tipped over like a silhouette. It doesn't look like it from the pic but this was very steep country. We quartered the 7 by 5 and had it all back to my truck in about six hours. This was her second bull and hopefully will tag another during the early 3C hunt this year.
-
Thank you, looking forward to it.
-
Thx, she missed a couple years and had 7. I'm assuming it's 3C which was her first choice, and second choice was another early tag. No doubt an early tag is quite a blessing this year or any year. We are really looking forward to it.

We usually make a trip every year coming in from the white mountain side. Take the carrizo junction road east towards east fork. Drive around 15 miles and turn south on dirt road leading to first the white then black river. I think it's about 7 miles to the white and 9 to the black. We usually fish the white west towards the confluence with the salt river. The last two years have been poor to average at best but 3 years ago, three of us caught and released around 300 smallest in a day of fishing. We always use small bright pink jigs with pink or white small single tail grubs. My distances are estimates but you can find the location on Google earth. Lots of rattlesnakes, bears, and some aggressive cattle. Last May a bull chased my son in law all the way into the river. I thought it was going to kill him. Buy permits at the carrizo junction store. Good luck.

Not what I believed would be enough to draw the tag is all
