  1. I spent last Sunday archery hunting javelina in 20C with my son and son in law. Ive hunted the same spot with my kids during the last ten archery hunts and a few junior hunts. We have usually done pretty well and this one was no different when my son in law tagged his first archery pig. I have a routine with the time of day and hills I hunt due to past success. When I got back to the truck I waited for both boys to return and thankfully my son in law was carrying a pig. Being his first one I helped to show him the proper way to skin one and not taint the meat. Instead of putting my pack and binoculars in the truck, I set them on the ground next to the mesquite we skinned it at. 😞 After finishing, we loaded the pig in the cooler and were on our way home. I was probably an hour from home and an hour from the hunting spot when I realized my pack wasnt in the cab. Panicked because others were in the area I quickly drove back thinking I had a 50/50 chance if my gear still being there. Thankfully when we got there my stuff was in the same spot. Live and learn.

    Sonora Fishing 12-10

Used to go to Puerto Lobos all the time in the 70s and early 80s with my dad. We snorkeled and trolled a lot not far from shore since we only had a 14 aluminum but did fairly well with Long Rapalas and large single hook chrome spoons catching grouper and sardinera. If we used bait we only caught trigger fish or rock bass. We camped in the larger cove about a mile down the beach from town and never had any problems.

    Close call-almost lost gear

My tag, and license was in the pocket of my backpack so I hoped if someone picked it up they would have my address and contact me but you never know with a nice Eberlestock pack, Swarovski Binos, knives, gps etc if someone would do the right thing or keep it. Im thankful to have it back.
