Interested in hearing more about that 209 conversion. I have a 50 cal Renegade -
Remember these are guidelines nor rules/laws. Use copper or don’t use copper it’s your choice. Pack the guts out or don’t and bury them. You are not obligated to pack those guts out and take them to the check station but most do.

Not sure if the Fain Ranch is still available to rifle hunters. It’s worth a check though. The year I had the tag it was open but oddly very few antelope on the ranch that year. In years past I archery hunted it and there was quite a good population there. Good luck!

Do you know the total weight of the rifle and scope combo?

No paper in the window they only allowed a couple people on for each hunt. The gates were locked and the ranch manager gave you a key. He knew exactly who should and shouldn’t be there. He would allow you in once or twice to scout I can’t remember exactly. It’s not that big of a ranch. I think it was $400 but sure it’s a lot more now if they even allow it. Game and Fish was watching from somewhere because as soon as i exited the gate with my buck, an Officer was waiting.

My second grandchild is due November 12th and I drew a 12AW late tag beginning November 19th

Worth it? It depends on what you’re looking for. We used to get off work at 2am Thursday, drive up, shoot birds, eat lunch at the lodge, sleep and drive home. Later when my kids grew up we would make a weekend trip out of it. Both kids have had great big game tags since then but always remember the Kaibab turkey trips. There’s nothing like early October in the Kaibab. Priceless. If worth is measured in money then definitely not worth it. You will spend 300 on gas, 100 in food for a 7 pound hen or 12 pound Tom.

I have an older CVA Optima .50 cal, removable breech plug, shoots good. I’ll sell it with all the gear you need for a great price if you’re interested. I’m out of town right now until next Friday.
