Watch out for rattlers. They are everywhere in that unit.

I ordered on July 9th and was told it likely would be October when they arrive

For the lucky ones with unit 1 early archery/muzz/rifle tags the green up is great, water everywhere, tanks full, water in the road ruts. I’ve been camped here 4 days and 3 hours of lte afternoon rain is standard. I had the tag in 2020 and it was much drier. Good luck.

All the elk we saw were in huge 50 plus cow herds They will break up soon

They are definitely spread out right now and unless things change sitting water might not be productive in the early seasons.

I’m camped near Big lake where I camped 4 years ago. Phone service lol. turkeys I saw were closer to Reservation lake. I saw them pretty consistently 4 years ago and again 2 days ago. PM if you want specifics.

Been wearing the Crispi Mevadas a couple years. They seem to give my bad ankle and arches the best support. Wore the Salamon GTX for a while, good comfortable low cost boot

Update: we had a great time catching small bass and sunfish with worms and meal worms 1’ under bobbers near the ramp. Everywhere else the grass extends 20’ beyond the bank making it tough for the little ones. Good time, will go back.

Headed to Whitehorse next week with a 21’ trailer and two grandsons. I haven’t been there in years. Anyone offer information about the road condition and is there a location in Williams to buy mealworms? thx

I helped a buddy out on 2 east side late hunts and from my observation it takes a lot of snow to drive the east side bucks down
