I agree with the buck knives and that shop in the mall will engrave them and do a good job
-
Amanda I know that many here are already going and have two in their boat ... but why not start a thread for those interested but have boat and only self matching them up with another that may not have a boat ... also are there any more specific rule set up yet ... like the bag limit ... is it individual bag limit or boat bag limit ... and if so how does that affect single anglers that may be on shore or by themselves in a boat .... Is live bait going to be allowed ... I think this would be great info in preparing for the upcoming weekend

If your located in where you can go to one of the Malls then go to the store called Things Remembered they have all these types of things and do the engraving.... I personally like a nice Knife ... think it just depends on what the guys in the party are like ... here is a link to that store may give you ideas ... http://www.thingsremembered.com/webapp/wcs...36__3008?occId=

Kinda like what elkhunter mentioned but instead of pen try a coating of lip stick on the rest and see if any gets transferred to the fletching ... My bro told me about this trick

It is the same as it has been the last 5 years. With the addition of the nice signs that the federal government put up recently stating the safety hazards of illegal activity going on . Seems funny they will put up signs but tell the media on a daily basis is that is not that bad ... the red area in this PDF is the closed area. http://www.fws.gov/southwest/refuges/arizo...DFs/Closure.pdf

Nothing really when it comes to layers .... you can try the free trial of pro but the details are not there..... It is not just tank names that are no longer shown but also smaller roads ... and most geographic names of mountains ( still a few large ones) , washes , canyons, creeks, flats and the list goes on .... the topo over lay is cool since it has the entire country but has limitations on printing have not figured out yet how to get a good print from it ...

Check out the Vortex Viper line of scopes ... Awesome scopes for under 500 and great warranty and service Talk to Doug from camera land first rate service. here is a link to the 4-12x40 ( bro put one on his 7mm last fall) the reviews I have seen on the 6.5-20 x 44 have also been very good. I am thinking of soon replacing mine with the Viper PST line http://www.cameralandny.com/optics/vortex....texviper4-12x40

Finally got a drawn for a first choice.... I will be up in the 3c for deer this year
-
we hunted down there a couple times and can say that copper creek is a good area but the access is crap and our experience paying and using the mercers roads where not that great of one. Similar sightings and no real shooters.... If I was to hunt there again and stick to the area you speak of I would get real good at locating some good water sources a couple miles in and more specifically any maybe within a mile of the closest ones where you are spotting the does. Set up a base camp and Hike in and cold camp a couple nights at a time. It has been several years but if you have any more questions pm me I will help with what I can

They work and work well... use them in the boat too.... just make sure you remember to turn it off when you don't need it to get the most use ...

... it is illegal to camp within 1/4 mile of livestock and/or wildlife watering sources. -
I have to agree with leupold and their customer service is top of the line.... but recently after shooting my bro's 7mm with the new Vortex I would definitely recommend a look ....

That strip has been considered closed off since 2006 ... the change is in the size of the red zone and the federal signs 80 miles up from the border.... This whole administration is a Joke when it comes to any issue.... I think there is way more to the non funding and lack of Nat. guard support on closing out borders then the immigration reform deal.... Wonder how much Meth make it to Obama's Chicago street's via the Arizona corridor.... I think it is going to take more dead bodies before these idiots do anything... hopefully they will not be American and Arizona residents. p.s. I agree with Lark on taking care of it ourselves ... -
Have to agree with you there Slim ... I have spotted more game glassing with inexpensive glass than many guys in the party using Top of the line glass ... getting the practice with any glass is more important than the glass itself... But once you start Getting good... the better glass will make you even better. My buddy picked up the inexpensive Vortex Vulture in coyote brown last season and for the money they performed very well and would compete with a lot of Bino's 2 to 3 times the price ... I also do not like using a tripod so much a monopod and a methodical approach to what I am glassing is my preference
