Not according to G&F ... All tags must be transferred in office with fee prior to hunt and put in the kids name... and according to every person I have asked A Parent, Grand Parent or legal guardian must be within 50 yards in field when wildlife is taken by minor child... I was also told that since the minor child has to have his or her hunting license and tag is transferred to his or her name that the harvesting of game effects the minor child's quota ... and does allow Parent or Grand Parent to still Hunt and Harvest with OTC archery.
-
Pretty straight forward ... Parent or Grandparent can transfer tag to son/daughter, or grandson/daughter as long as they meet the age and that one of three are accompany and hunting with them ... Parent , Grandparent, Legal Guardian... So Uncle Joe can not be the one with them unless he is a Legal Gaurdian

Have a friend that may be able to go about 5k .... pm if you want me to give him details

Can you supply that law, since it has been years since I used a check ... But in the past a check was always cashed when received, and Refunds sent by a certain date ... The check contains the application fee which allows G&F the right to cash on receiving for the draw process... It may have been changed but I am not aware of that change...
-
Looks like they will have to Amend the Grandparent Transfer Rules to maybe once.... It may be a legal loophole, but that doe snot make it right.

I think that a Trail Cam manufacturer that made an embedded tracking and software package that made the camera useless if tampered with could make a killing ...
-
Nowhere in my orig post was I "crying" about my cams being stolen - Lol. I specifically stated I really don't care much and that I'll just go buy new ones and I understand it is a risk yadayadayada. And also that I feel more sorry for the guy that stole them. My intent was to show what my camera looks like (with a broken d-hole on side) and maybe someone will come across it and notify me in which case I'll go serve some justice. My other intent is to warn others that maybe hang cams in 19A to watch out. I did not have my cam lag bolted to a tree, it was strapped but I understand you're referring to a pic someone else posted in their reply. We all understand it is a risk but dang this is a discussion forum can't a guy vent anyway if he wants? I don't get too angry with these thieves... life's too short for that and in the end a stupid trail cam is insignificant. As I said he'll face his judgement day. I don't care about my camera but sure wish I could've seen the pics:) Probably a bearnanza on ther! Critter My apologies, the post was not intended for you to feel I was calling you out, nor really calling you a whiner ... I meant to speak in general at how these threads tend to point more at the hunting audience when there are far more possible culprits out there. That action in turn puts hunter versus hunter and IMO that gets old and is one of the reasons I have not really done much on this site in the last couple years. I do not use trail cams but have no issue with them being used... my only caveat to that is when Bait is used in the process ( not going to say anymore as it is a can of worms far to often opened here). That being said, I nor any of the hunters I associate with would go as far as even touching another persons trail cam. I honestly believe the Majority of our fellow hunters are the same way and are respectful of others property. I will never support a persons argument that an item such as that is always legal and not considered abandoned according to the Rules of the National Forest Service. Many here like bashing Hunters that do not agree with some on what they consider legal, and I can tell you the majority of cams and stands I have come across in the field Have broken the law/rules on the means of attachment as well as cutting of live limbs. This type of behavior too, is a way hunters as a whole get a black eye, by people doing something they say is legal but not really sticking to all the rules. There is probably not a unit in this state that has not had a camera thief thread shared on this forum. So, once again the news of leaving DOLLAR BILLS hanging for weeks at a time in public forests and finding them gone is not anything new. I am sorry it happened to you and would not want it happen to anyone, but I can not say that it shouldn't happen, because it has and it does and will continue as long as people leave money sitting unattended in the forests.

I would say that Tuesday or Weds Should be the latest that we see , since the leftover process is by mail the first week and I am sure they want as many sent by Friday to have on Monday morning the 28th... None the less they are not past any deadline and we should be patient no matter how much the suspense is killing US !

For all those who want to use trail cams, you should not complain when they go missing. This does not mean I think it is right that another person MAY have taken it, but the reality is you do not know. Forest service removes a lot of cams and blinds from our forests. I am sure some are unsavory outdoors men, and I am sure some are good old run of the mill hikers and people who are against hunting. Sad Part is you rarely know who and which it may be and to come crying on a forum for you taking a gamble with your $$$ is ridiculous. We have seen post after post for years and you know the risks. As far as legality when it comes to use of cams and tree stands for that matter, you may want to read the Rules/laws of our Public National Forests. YOU may want to look at what they define as abandoned as well as attachments to living trees... pretty much in every public forest in this state running a lag bolt( as in the picture of the empty box) on a living tree is illegal, as it cutting live limbs to make sure you are getting clear shots or so you can hang a stand properly. It sucks that it happens, but sucks that people who know the risks and still do it come crying on a forum that pretty much only caters to one possible culprit and that is Fellow Hunters.. You roll the dice be prepared for a bad roll.

Well, Put in for myself and my sons first Deer Hunt with my brother and We Got our Hits ... Now to see when and where we got our tags. Still have a question about what I was told a couple years back, as it seemed Hits took place over the course of a week and a half, I was told that the processed for each pass of the draw in order to make sure any declined cards and tags associated with the app were properly not excluded from next pass. Is there any truth to this and if there is , wouldn't that mean some could still be seeing hits through the remainder of the week ?

So thought this was an interesting story... Fighter Jet tech for long range shooting!!! The tech and concept are pretty cool even if I think it is a bit overkill for hunters, though I know many will probably disagree. http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/technology/2013/05/smart-rifle-begins-shipping-to-gun-owners-this-week/ http://tracking-point.com/

My confusion now comes via one of this sites sponsors GO ... who just posted this on Facebook " "A few months ago the AZGFD sent a representative to Gila Outdoor to discuss/ask for public support to "simplify" the license structure and process. It passed and was signed into law. Take a look at what the "simplification" means. What are your thoughts on a tiered permit structure for deer and elk? " I am not going to assume that these changes are directly related to input from GO but the wording almost seems to imply and suggest possible input and support. if GO was involved in this process that long ago, I am wondering what other outlets such as organizations, and outfitters were brought on board in the forms of giving insight into this change. I can see this being a win win for outfitters as well as those of higher income as a means to try to put limits on less fortunate hunters with less means.

I agree. However, the paper option has a few minefields as well. The data entry clerk might transpose a number or two. Rare, but I'm sure it's happened. I like the online option as it gives me total control in the data entry. If I screw up, I screw up. However, if a bank gets "trigger happy" and deems 3 charges as fraud....you're screwed. So here's a solution: Continue the online process, but add the option to pay with an electronic check. Thousands of businesses use this every day. I pay alot of bills this way. Its fool-proof. Enter the Routing/Transit number and your account number. Funds are withdrawn immediately from your checking account. It's the same as writing and sending a paper check. Only faster. Now a person has total control of ALL the data and funds. As long as there is a balance in your checking account at the time you complete your application, there is ZERO chance of error. AZG&F has the money, your app is complete and accurate since its done online and you don't have to worry about getting a hit on a CC that may or may not deem the charge as fraudulent. There is no one entering numbers ... It is all digital OCR scans and G&F has a copy of every app... Try to say you made no mistake and they will send you a PDF showing the actual copy of your application and you will see for yourself as we did when one person did not use SS # but put the hunters ID. OCR now days is over 99% accurate and if the PDF comes up showing no error and that an error happened on G&F side they will remedy it.

My brother and I took his little ones up on sunday in hope to find some bitting crappies ... it seemed we were seeing suspended crappie but could not get any to bite ( varied roadrunners with minnows) but we did miss a few, lost a few , and caught a few bass, including my brothers 8 lb girl in about 9 feet of water.

just so you can see some pics ... my sister took these a few weeks back with her hx30 ... the deer were over 400 yards away ad the hawk was close to 250 yrds

Looks like, at least through Walmart.com ... for 319 ... if your store does not stock it you can have delivered to store and pick up for free
-
the sony HX30 at around $320 is by far the best compact digital I have seen for the field in a last few years... Newest cmos tech, high resolution imaging with a 20x optical and new 40x clear image zoom out performs many digital Slr's that sell for 2 - 3 times more...

it states Produced and manufactured for livestock industry ... what do you think that means ... there are federal and state regulations pertaining to livestock nutritional supplements and what can go in them ... there are also natural supplements used as common practice such as hay , corn, corn stalks, soy bean meal, molasses that would be illegal unles placed during an active operation ... Break it down ...Produced and manufactured for industry .... read definitions... you making a home brew mineral lick does not constitute manufatured for and industry only for your personal use ... try to slant it how you want but it is not confusing to those with common sense
-
Seems pretty clear cut .... People looking for the loopholes will always tend to see confusion Pure salt - legal - not defined as bait Salt based products ... i.e. Mineral licks that include salt must be manufactured and produced for livestock industry ... ( so unless you have a manufacturing facility and product marketed for livestock, a salt additional mineral combination would be illegal) unlike most nutritional supplements salt based licks can last a while on land not being actively used for cattle operation and remain viable when land is used again... I would assume the difficulty of enforcement due to this fact would be why Salt and salt based licks are not illegal, plus the fact that salt would kill any cells that would be associated with bacteria and disese would make the a CWD argument hard to sustain Nutritional supplements - manufactured and produced for livestock would be legal if placed during active operations... So would come to make sense if the land has not had any active operations recently, that being caught using nutritional supplements would be illegal ... nutritional supplements for cattle usually fall into three categories, Protien, Energy, and Roughage... this would include things like corn, hay, grains, meals like soy or cottonseed, molasses ect. so seems anything homebrewed would be illegal ... unless you becom a licenced manufacturer of Livestock nutritional supplements or salt based products for livestock... making yourself subject to fees, state regulations, taxes, and all the good things that come with being a business.
