Can you actually still hunt unit 32? And a AZGFD mini-rant.
Str8Shot replied to sjpitts's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
They will tell you that you can get access by foot and horseback in most of the areas via alternative routes... What I do not understand is that with all of Different hunting foundations that ask for money Hunters as a whole are not banning together to get a Real estate Lawyer to use the laws to force rights of easements into our public lands... Unless the laws have change there should be along standing history of unrestricted access through these private properties to our public lands to legally require easements to be made. 32 is a great unit but I personally have not hunted down there in over 10 years Too Much BS... -

Well I have found that the stress and time requirements of trying to handle my Mom being hospitalized has cut a little into my progress but I am still losing slowly and getting stronger in the process.... One month until my hunt and I am down 79 lbs since 1/1/14 ... It I am shooting for at least 10 -12 more lbs before hunt starts and will be kicking the strength training and cardio a couple notches ...

GoPro Hero3+ Silver( new sealed box) looking for possible trades
Str8Shot posted a topic in Classified Ads
TY to those who offered , the GoPro is no longer available! -
Ultramag we have plenty of rattlesnakes that live in the timber, just not actual Timber Rattlesnakes (the species) you can look up their home range it begins in east texas and goes to the coast as far north as parts of New York, and as far south as Upper Florida.... Most of the time what we call Timber Rattlers in AZ are Black and Black Tailed Rattlers

Very nice Bulls , way to get things done !

Did not realize there was a place in that far southeast corner of the state that was 9000 feet... As far as Timber rattlesnakes, we do not have them in Arizona, most likely A black Rattlesnake or Black Tailed Rattlesnake.

There are some scattered around as GreyGhost stated and though I do not know anyone hunting them I know of people seeing them in small groups in varied units , down around Mammoth in Unit 32 down to Redington I have seen Russian Boars ( these are privately owned but range freely) but you do not want to take them I have never seen feral hogs though I know a couple people who say they have... From friends I have heard of scattered sightings in 27, 23, as well as on the Res but in no large numbers... I have always heard that 13b has a bigger population but I do not know any that have hunted them there

Telling if the EGR cooler is bad is not difficult(you already seen the white smoke which is a sign of that or blown head gasket) ... Of course the next thing you want to note is the D-gas bottle/overflow and if you are losing coolant without seeing leaks... the best way to tell if the cooler is bad is just pule the EGR valve... It should have nice dry carbon deposits from exhaust if it has sludge or looks super clean ( like it has been steam cleaned ) you have a bad EGR cooler... In that motor a bad EGR cooler is often the culprit for leading to faulty injectors as has happened twice on friends 6.0 engines. Both time trucks were under load and off on long trips where the bad EGR cooler led to injectors failing and ending up on side of road with the same issues you put in your OP. The Turbo may cause a loss of power but should not cause what you had happen. Oil coolers do not always fail before the EGR cooler but when upgrading to something like Bullet proof it is just better to do both for piece of mind. If I had to bet your EGR was going bad and that led to failing injectors and if like in my cousins case blowing a head gasket in the process of trying to limp to safe pull off. Those engine are notorious for these issues and is why going Bullet Proof is IMO the best thing you can do on a 6.0 you are keeping that is out of warranty.

I think it is great that BC777 is trying to help someone find their Lost Bull, even though I feel some do too little in trying to retrieve wounded game and many decide to keep on hunting. I can not Fault Out2Hunt's logic and feelings that every possible means should be used in trying to locate the hunter, and this includes contacting fish and game. We all know that poaching hurts us all and that during open seasons is when many poachers try to blend in with the mix, not to mention unethical hunters that may choose to walk away from one kill to harvest something bigger. These so called hunters are poachers despite having a tag, insurance bull or whatever you want to call it , it is wrong and G&F should have the heads up to inspect and investigate the kill. I think Nature Girl and AZLance would have more fun if they Hugged it out for 20 mins in the corner, the way my son and daughter were tortured when they bickered too much. Really though, ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS, BC did this thread work in finding the bulls owner?

Anyone try a Gopro mounted on a rifle?
Str8Shot replied to Couestracker's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
I have seen excellent video with the GoPro through spotting scope... they were using the Phone Skope adapter and the GoPro Iphone app to view and control... biggest issue is the circular frame ... will be a buzz kill for many -
Anyone try a Gopro mounted on a rifle?
Str8Shot replied to Couestracker's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
They are nice for getting the action but as with all have limitations ... Not something you would want to use for long range, but then again there is not much out there without actually using an adapter and going through a spotting scope for that. One of my friends loves it on his Bow and with the close distance it does very well. Here is a clip showing one type of rifle mount and out of stand ... -
I would suggest doing the research and calling these guys ... Any 6.0 out of warranty that is being kept should be Bullet Proofed in my opinion.. http://www.bulletproofdiesel.com/

I know several women that use the S&W Governor (pretty much same as judge) alternate 410 and .45 acp or .45 colt... the governor will also take 2 1/2 loads and has 6 shots instead of 5 ... Winchester has the PDX1 self defense .410 loads or of course you can go Bird Shot both good in close quarters and closer ranges... -
My unit 9 bull **New pictures and story added**
Str8Shot replied to firstcoueswas80's topic in Elk Hunting
Nicely done... Amazing how being out there in the field with campfires and the heavens above we can feel so close to those who meant so much and are now gone. Great Bull and Story, one that will be shared for many campfires to come I am sure! -
There is a good reason wikipedia is not an acceptable resource for validating or to be used as a citation of reference that is accepted in colleges and/or professional published studies. Anyone can edit and change Wikis

You can always put up a wind turbine generator .... they do not seem to care when all those protected birds are killed by the blades ... -
you asked how many could you see, not the ones in the frame hidden where only the guy that took the picture knows which trees ... can not wait to see the visible sign of more than 6 or 7 .. see the ear through the trees ahead of the bedded... there may be 3 in the closest group on second look with ones body being turned up hill behind tree ... possibly and 8 facing up hill behind the highest but zoomed in can tell for sure if that is a 5th leg ... none the less be seen in a picture I for certain see 6 ...
