You do not need DOT rated tires for pavement to be legal ... Would it be recommended , of course, but it is not required -
HELP Yamaha Grizzly 700 Making them Street Legal
Str8Shot replied to elkslare's topic in Other Hunting Gear
When did they revise the statute .... It has always been based on location and though I did not do a registration in 2015 in 2014 it was still required... as well as an inspection the first time registering it ... -

Page 6 tells you all you need ... Usually the add-on's that most have to get are the Horn ... and License Plate light .... looks like you would need to add a handle bar mirror. If they do not have a brake light you would need to add that as well but most made have that covered... Then get your insurance and emmissions testing and you should be good ... http://www.azgfd.gov/pdfs/outdoor_recreation/ohv/atv_brochure.pdf -
How can a Premier Member not know how to post pictures

Lots of ways to do it ... but IMO having a copy of the native image, being able to clear the card to reuse in the field , portability, storage, viewing on Android phones and comparable in cost to an inexpensive tablet... Gives you more bang for the $$$$$ ... Unfortunately not a good option for Apple IOS I-phone users

If you use and android phone and do not want to switch out SD cards all the Time ... this is a good solution - 500GB portable drive that transfers all your photos in minutes and allows you to hook to your android smart phone to view.. at home it hooks to PC as an external Hard Drive so you can transfer all and/or delete the pics you do not care for ... lots of benefits to doing it this way IMO http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1077915-REG/digital_foci_p31_500_photo_safe_ii_on.html

You can not use the Flesh of Game Fish as bait .... So unless G&F has redefined flesh ( which is muscle and fat found between the skin and bones) then using the guts or organs should not be against the law... You can not use a whole game fish ( tell the craws that when they are eating at the fish on your stringer) or fillets from a fish.

That is a whole lot of fish sticks looks like a heck of a fun time thanks for sharing !

when done cook them up in tequila once the tequila steams through them and cooks most the way off a quick sautee with butter, garlic, and cilantro or parsley and you will no longer worry about if you caught fish or not that day! I think fish head and guts always seemed to fill the traps faster but never had a problem using so many other things from Hot Dogs to liver ... Using Bacon would have been sacrilege!

See a lot of guys on here that suggest using SPOT devices for safety and piece of mind while out packing... Not sure if it has been brought up... So for those looking at getting a SPOT device there are some decent rebates ... 50% back on a visa card for Gen3 and Trace and 100% back for Global Sat Phone ... For new customers and of course you have to have service and activate, but those looking at using them are already aware of that... Looks like rebates with be through Sept. 14th http://www.sportsmanswarehouse.com/img/callouts/2015_SPOT_SummerRebate_All_Devices.pdf

Bulls can keep growing through late July and even into early August ( though the smaller guys are usually the ones growing in August ) ... An increase in Testosterone triggers the Velvet to basically choke off the blood flow and stop growing several weeks to a month before they start rubbing .. During that time the Bone is hardening and the blood and water is used up making the velvet begin to dry up slowly once the bone is hardened they stripping that velvet off...

Do you agree with G&F forcing kids to take Hunter Safety???
Str8Shot replied to Big Browns's topic in Youth Hunters
I agree that with all the things that seem to be able to get funded that the G&F should be able to Fund for and Pay individuals to hold weekend courses weekly or bi-weekly ... IMO as a hunter, I would see no issue in even paying a larger fee to take a course that was more readily available on a more reoccurring basis. I look at it as an extra bonus point every year and @ $13 a bonus point taking and having your Hunters education pays for itself over the years beyond just the piece of mind....Having to seek out field days for online course is not as easy as it should be for something required of our youth... I see the lack of a well organized Hunters education system by the G&F department as an oversight IMO There is no issue finding a CCW class .... I do not see any reason there should be an issue finding a Hunters Education Class and field day ... -
If I recall ours said boxed in USA made in China ! ... From the Kodiak website Where are Kodiak Canvas tents manufactured? All our tents are made in China by an expert canvas tent maker. If your concern is quality, know that all the materials are top of the line. We use top grade zippers and components. The canvas is custom woven and treated to meet our specs. We are confident that our tents are the best value for your dollar. If your question is more about patriotism, know that companies that claim that their tents are "Made in the USA", are most likely made with canvas that comes from Pakistan or India. While our tents are made abroad, they are made with cotton grown in the USA (the % of USA cotton can vary). Significant duties are levied on all tents imported into the USA, generating funds for the federal government. Kodiak Canvas is a USA based company, but our tents are sold in many countries around the world including Asia. As a global citizen, Kodiak Canvas seeks to produce its products responsibly, while ensuring our customers get the most value for their hard earned money. Be assured that our tents are made in modern, clean facilities, with skilled, well paid, adult employees.

Come on Bonecollector ... If people would take the time to read and/or call prior if they do not understand, there would be no issue ... There have also been plenty of threads and rants on this forum discussing it ... License must only be valid at time of draw and you renew your license when your year is up ... Not rocket science and no overlap if people take the time to read... As others suggested Jan 1 is always the best day and best way to make sure you are covered year in , year out ... I know a lot of people who are thankful that when they decide to get a license mid year that they are not screwed out of 6 months with the new structure... Love how everyone wants to blame others and G&F in this case for there inability to educate themselves on a structure that in all fairness loses G&F more money than they would make ... I personally know a lot of people who seemed to always had only gotten 6-8 months out of a combo the old way.

Do you agree with G&F forcing kids to take Hunter Safety???
Str8Shot replied to Big Browns's topic in Youth Hunters
When I took the test 29 years ago it was offered through our Boy Scout Troop ... I think everyone in the Troop but one or two took it and a good number of them were not even hunters. Big Browns, I respect that you want to share your passion of hunting with your kids, but the NRA Safety requirement is not what is making it hard to do. As parents, I believe it is up to us to change the entitlement mentality that is plaguing the last couple generations. I feel this is a good opportunity for you to teach them- that with patience, putting in the work required, and understanding the rules as well as following them not only gives them more opportunities but a bigger sense of accomplishment. Selling it off as something that is being forced, and not as important as it would seem you already have is only doing them a disservice. Just my opinion. -
Do you agree with G&F forcing kids to take Hunter Safety???
Str8Shot replied to Big Browns's topic in Youth Hunters
G&F is not forcing them or you to do anything other then make a choice .... My Son did not show much interest in hunting until just this last year at 16 .... he enjoyed the occasional small game hunts, target shooting, camping, fishing and about everything else outdoors but was a bit reluctant to want to put in for Big Game Hunts... That changed last year and at 16 I still made him take the Hunters safety class. heck the class is far simpler and takes a lot less time than it did when I took the class when I was 10 ... I agree with everyone here who says that every person hunting Big Game in AZ should have to take the Class and everyone does if they are going to do any of the WMAT reservation Hunts. p.s. G&F is not making it harder as it has been that was for the last 30+ years ... 30 years ago you would have gone to multiple classes for 3 - 4 hours a night with an actual teacher , then take a test with the teacher making sure you were not cheating , then do your Range Day ... Now it is on line ( Open Book Basically) and your range day and if you prepare in advance finding the Range day is not as bad as it was 5 years ago... -
I feel every dollar collected and spent should be public and Voters should have a say if it seems they are not using the money or doing their job wisely... But the same reasons the Cardinals can keep kicking up ticket prices or promoters can get $100 a pop on a pay per view fight is because the demand and people keep paying .... I am more concerned with those lobbying to create much higher tag fee structures by creating trophy hunts than with an across the board increase for all and not messing with things ( I know you archery guys already feel you are getting shafted ) ..... IMO G&F dollars should never go in the state general fund that is where they are wasted the most...

No way I could stretch 1-1/2 gallons 4-5 days , unless it was pure survival ... I am a gallon a day drinker and when logging miles in the warmer temps 2-3 liters a day is rationing .... A couple scouting trips with water cached and a filter allows flexability on how much water weight I choose to add when actually headd out for the main trip.
-
there are a few pre-filters out there MSR makes one that fits most brands and will make a big difference.... if you want another layer look at a DIY cheesecloth pre-filter as well... the more dirt you can remove before your high dollar unit the better it is...

you can find the base model 10x10 for 399 shipped free versus 499 - http://www.competitiveedgeproducts.com/detail.aspx?ID=1558&utm_source=shopping.com&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=product The one thing to remember is that the lifetime warranty for Kodiak is only to the original owner ... the little extra up front may save you $$$$ down the road...

Where to buy roll of foam.... 2" or 4" for sleeping
Str8Shot replied to Chris's topic in The Campfire
We have a folding mat at home made of memory foam and it is better than most beds. Only downside is that stuff is like a bag of bricks, it is heavy! Yeah , at 10 lbs it is not going to be part of your back country gear, but this guy always makes his home under a camper shell in his truck. -
This thread is so wrong on so many levels, but like a train wreck or car crash it is hard to look away... That being said I did hear good old Bruce will be auditioning for the Remake of "The Crying Game"
