I was going to say how brave of you to hunt pigs with only 2 arrows. Lol. Nicely done!

Just checking on the idea of chambering a round and then releasing the firing mechanism with the bolt... I get that it will not go off when releasing, but most bolt actions won't allow you to go to safety when not cocked therefore nothing blocking the firing pin from a potential slam fire. I get the idea of not relying on a safety to do this (hence don't carry with a round in either) but man that just seems like an accident waiting to happen. On some bolt actions, I've even seen the firing pin protrude a bit in a relaxed position, now you have the pin up against the primer... Would scare me more than relying on the safety actually. I might be way off on this one, but not something I have even considered doing.

Anyone know a .243 Pelt Friendly Load?

+1 on paritions as long as you don't hit the shoulder. -
I chamber when I'm closing in on animal or when ready to shoot. Not during typical carry to glassing location or back to vehicle etc

I've got one in 25/20 from 1910. No homer bucket is safe out to about 75 yards. Fun rifles and hold their value even if you do shoot them on occasion (unless mint). Good luck with the sale!

That's why I started already, going to need a full year! -
it is solid wood. Just took it apart to move it out. It's a heavy piece of furniture. Easy assembly, 8 nuts and 12 screws secure it to the base.

Sorry, does $250 sound about fair?

(SOLD)Savage model 16 Ultralight Hunter 6.5 Creedmoor

For what it is worth, I bought the same gun last year for my wife and daughter to hunt with . I had PRC put a little b@st@rd on it and topped it with a LRHS and it shoots. I only shot the 143eldx but grouped well under an 1", it dialed into every range out to 500 that I tried (no groups at distance, but several 2 shot within the diamond hits). I liked it so much (and the fact it is 1/2 the weight as my typical carry) I ended up shooting my deer with it in Oct (you know, just to make sure it was safe for my wife) and then my wife killed her first deer with it in Nov. Since it is a Creedmore, yes, I am attempting to grow a man bun in time for next season - just to not let anyone down. haha. Good luck with the sale -
I'm sure your compatition guns are great. My opinion only, but don't say stuff is junk if you don't really know. In that price range that the gentleman spoke of, that is a great gun. Is it the best machined o/u out there, obviously not. For 500-700, it is about the best bang for the buck that I know of hence my reply. You on other hand, shot down the idea without knowing.. because you Del'd it!

Del have you shot the Stevens 555 and don't like something or are you just being a Del and knowing everything about everything even though you haven't ever actually shot one? Just curious if this is a del moment or you actually know? I'm guessing you and Seeker probably should just give us all a manual on everything and make our pathetic lives a little easier.
