Thanks. If someone wants the rifle with the only the youth stock, we can split it up for sure. -
I appreciate all the information.. Helps a ton. Thanks!

that is the exact choice I am looking at.. the hells canyon, pro or the CA Ridgline. I don't think you can go wrong, but just trying to see if the extra 1K for 1lb is worth it!
-
It very much does and thank you. I remember selling CA's 20 years ago and they had extractor problems back then as well. I wonder why this continues to be an issue but sounds like it gets rectified easily enough though. Thank you again! Great info.

I just found a post from Sept asking the same. Sorry, should have searched first. If anything new, I'll still take, but otherwise will review that. Thanks!

How did you find the overall weight of the sight and balance? I think they weight about 2x what a normal pin sight weighs. Just curious if the balance helps or affects in anyway?

That's awesome - miss those days. Our first youth year was my 10 and 12 year old and a buddies 11 year old. First one went down at 7, 2nd at 8 and third at 9... Just saying we were busy. Somewhere I have a picture of the 3 boys with 3 elk in the back of a F150. Legs and grins everywhere. Nicely done to the girls.

+1 for a great scope.

Looking for a couple of 12"x12" type plates that will handle magnum centerfire rifle rounds. From what I gather, I think I need 1/2" AR550 steel or equivalent. Does anyone have any to part with or a source? Thank you
-
I appreciate it. CJ may replicate yours when I get everything, may be in touch. Thank you again

outstanding, than you sir!

How are you mounting them? Post and chain or just driving in on two posts or something else? I'm thinking just buying some gongs and welding two posts of angle iron to each side and just driving that into the ground vs doing the whole chain thing...?
-
Thanks Edge, I sent you a PM.
-
Perfect. Thanks

Makes sense. Thank you!

cool.. I wonder if the 3/8" will hold up to 300 and 338? Sounds like it is worth a shot. Thank you.

I don't see anything wrong with this person writing the atv group and requesting them to consider the youth hunting schedule in the future and sharing this here for others with perhaps the same sentiment. They didn't come here and complain or start a protest. It sounds like they handled it politely and professionally and if you disagree then don't follow their lead. Simple as that to me. No reason to light them up. Lots of elk habitat close to or inbetween roads and with first time or inexperienced hunters adding extra commotion and that can easily hurt the experience, especially if not planned. Not everyone packs in 10 miles with their 10 year old and packs out an elk like Del must.

Ed's shoe repair on Warner and 48th has done a few things for me, but honestly not a pair of hunting boots, although I think he has/had some vibram soles there one time when I looked. A little eastern europoen guy that does really nice work on everything I have seen. I have a pair that I'm going to take him after this year's deer hunts and see if it is worth doing.
