I leave gates as I find them. Never cut a fence but have taken the ties off about five post, stood on it so it could be driven over in the center and then retied. The rancher kept wondering how we got around his locked gate and stayed on FS so as to not trespass. Funny thing was next year there were two gates bypassing his land so he couldn't lock off the FS road anymore.

Only used a shotgun once for coyote calling. Around my uncles house he was having a problem so I set up in some thick stuff with my 12 ga. and #2 shot and my .222 Remington. I shot 4 in my lap as quick as I could pull the trigger on the shotgun. First shot was 3 feet and last with the shotgun was 10 yards. Then I picked up 3 more running up the hill with the .222 at about 200-250 yards. Took care of the yote problem and have never killed that many yotes in such a short period of time again.

Red Sea doesn't sound as cool as "Steel Curtain" or "12th man" or "Orange Crush" or "Cowpatties".

That is why I learned long ago to have my own card, or a prepaid VISA that I put extra cash the wife doesn't know about on it. I made the mistake of using the wife's VISA to buy a Win. Model 70 in 30-06. -
Wish I could help but I have never hunted down in that area except my daughters turkey hunt last year by Ruidoso.

I would not use a poncho but only because it would get in the way of drawing my bow. If I was carrying a rifle or ML I would use one. I watched Apex Predator last night where they used a gillie suit to get within 8 ft. of an antelope doe in an open pasture. Interesting show to watch and would give you a lot more information.

I almost always forget something and it is usually different from year to year. Last year I forgot the dang lip balm and they dried out. You guys forget Lance said "it is my wife's and daughters use list" and we won't need much of it.

That is why I have caller ID and don't answer the phone. "I left early for my time off and was out of cell range" seems to work pretty good. Hope you have good luck on the hunt.

When I did animal control I had ranchers I took the mean ones to. They would lose feral cats to owls and coyotes so always wanted some mean feral cats around for the mice. If you get a real mean one that is hissing and spitting in the trap take them out with a coyote gun as they will call in a ton of coyotes when they are like that. The most feral cats I took off one property was 32 cats in 30 days.

Big Boquillas Ranch Threat or Leverage or Both!

Because if it is like NM the private landowners won't go for it because they would lose all the free access for their hunters to use "public lands" others can't. edit: Their reasoning is their land extends up in the air to 1000 ft., (the height a LE airplane would need a search warrant if they were lower) and you would have to be in their "air space" therefore technically trespassing. -
See I am not patient and careful. I can solder and put the components on PC boards but that is because I WANT to not because I HAVE to.

you killed your wife? Thats messed up Never said killed, said bagged. Catch and release and I sure wish the second part would come soon.

My daughter dropped her replacement iPhone 6 about 4 weeks after she got it. We only can make so many claims per year so I just paid $109 +tax to the Apple Store up here in Albuquerque. Twice what I would have to pay on the insurance but worth it in the long run.

Been on the ultimate hunt already. 28 years ago I bagged my wife. Was the best ultimate hunt I have ever been on.

See if you can find a T/C Encore or Contender. Yes they are single shots and can be pricy but you can change the butt to fit as they grow and always add different barrels for different cartridges. I think CVA might have a similar platform. Best thing I did for my girls who couldn't make up their mind lefty or righty. It also helps with accuracy as they learned they only have one shot so they needed to make it count. Check out gun broker and pawn shops.

No it will take a while for the swelling and bruising to go away.

Got an idea with the trail camera nylon belts that come with the camera. I have some areas that I can get away with just the belt strapped to a tree. The problem I had was the strap was visible from a ways off. So here is what I did if anybody is interested. I got matte acrylic paint from the craft section of Wal Mart for .50/bottle and a package of cheap brushes for 1.00. So for under $3 I can probably do 100 belts. One Pattern. Different pattern. The same belt with the two different patterns. Get creative if interested and match the terrain you are hanging your camera in. I am sure you can do this with cables or anything that goes around a tree to break up the solid line outline.

Great job!

I wonder if dogs with parvo virus got loose in the area, it was passed to the wolves, it wiped them out, could you be charged?

Congrats. Meat bucks are the best. That unit gets a lot of pressure due to the leftover tags that people get to buy when they don't draw. Not much of an elk herd but I know what you mean about the parade of vehicles when I was on my Coues archery hunt. About 15 vehicles a day filled with elk hunters down the dead end FS road I was camped on. I will go back in Jan. to see what I can find for one of those little deer.

Thank you to all the Veterans. A bad knee kept me out of the service. Have missed my FIL for 20 years.

My bet is you caught the violator on camera so they destroy camera. Poachers are the worst. Hope they catch them.
