You got it bro. I'll put some in with the package I'm already sending you

They work with all drop aways as far as i know, and the weight is pretty much a wash. I've never had any issues with them coming off of the arrow going through brush. I guess it could happen, but i would be surprised.

Trouble finding components...

I'm not sure... Nosler doesn't make 7mm RUM though. -
Eric, Way back in the day (like 20 years ago ) My dad, Ed Knipp, and I used to backpack that river and fish it and we never saw anybody. I think your uncle might have even gone one time. It was pretty sweet, carry camp on your back, keep the last couple fish you caught that day, and cook 'em up that night. Just watch out for snakes. We parked trucks at 2 different spots to make it a one way hike, but I'll never remember where. It was like a 3 day deal. My old man might remember - if you're interested I'll ask him.

Midway, Cabelas, Powder Valley, Lock Stock and Barrel, and even a few places i hadn't heard of are all out of both the brass and primers. You can't even order the brass directly from Nosler It's been like this for months... And you have a PM -
I've seen/heard of this as well. Don't give up hope man!

I started using them last year, and have been very happy with them. Their main advantage is they can steer large broadheads better than vanes (especially in a crosswind) so they are more designed for hunters, but some people use them for 3d and spots also. I have shot both HellRazors and Spitfires with them and they flew great. So far I have only killed a wild pig, but the FOB worked just like it was supposed to and popped off marking the spot were the pig was hit. They are held on by the nock on your arrow so it depends on how tight your nocks fit as to how hard it is to pop the FOB off on a pass through, but that usually isn't much and is probably less than the force needed to drag conventional fletchings through the cavity of an animal anyway so over all penetration should be increased. (I got a complete pass through on my piggie - a 250 lb boar, even went through the offside shoulder ) As Doug said, you can't really shoot groups with them as you can bust them up, but I never shot groups much anyways. Tyson, I'm not sure about that rest, but you could send those guys an email from their website or PM Paul on ArcheryTalk, his screen name is "Paul Morris". They are REALLY good about answering questions like that. And like others have said, Paul's service is absolutely top notch. If you guys want to try some, send me a PM and I'll get you a couple from my stash to try (up to like 2 or 3 people )

dang right I want one, that's sweet! -
Great buck, congrats

I've done that, works well. I go over to my old mans house and use his air compressor to clean off most of the dust, and the alcohol swabs to get any grime. I also bring a can of compressed air with me on hunts, but the compressor is obviously much more effective.

I recommend the Harris 9-13" Swivel. Casey is right that the 13-25 is too tall for prone. With the 9-13" you can shoot prone very comfortably, and still raise it up to 13" to get over most grass and whatnot. I practice out to 700 yards with mine and have been able to shoot 1/2 moa at that distance under field conditions (on a really good day.) If i need to shoot sitting for whatever reason, i use my tripod with a rear support. My 2 pennies anyway .

No surprise here... my Christensen 300 RUM. 7 lbs scoped, and like SunDevil said it shoots like a laser no matter what she eats. Best shooting rifle I've ever owned. Love that gun.

What rifle are you taking on your elk hunt?
Coues Sniper replied to Stray Horse's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Hope you appreciate that draw length there monkey arms! Wish i had a 32" draw. Oh the KE i could get... (drools on keyboard) How do you like those Tricks? And I'll be using my 300 Ultra with a Leupold 4.5-14x56mm scope and probably 180 grain Sciroccos. I'll post some pics when i get a chance. -

Your little bro is a hero man . God bless him and all our troops. -
Agreed. They may be unbreakable, but not unloseable. Arrows are pricey enough, and my Gold Tips are plenty durable.

Booooooooooooooooooooo

Looks like the last hunt they have until December is June 20th. It says they require that you have a CA hunting license and a pig tag which would add another $200 to the price... is that true???
-
Proper English? "Atleast"? Ha ha, busted! And you're supposed to be able to bench your own bodyweight, sissy.
-
That's freaking awesome!

Rimhunter, It's not BS, it's just my opinion . And I agree that skill has just as much to do with locating animals as the quality of glass. But better quality certainly can't hurt. Skyhawk - If you're set on getting the Vortex and that's all you can get right now, then do it. Just saying that you would probably be better off with higher quality glass. That's all. Good luck with whatever you purchase. Kevin

Vortex stuff may seem nice, but you're kidding yourself if you really think they compare to the likes of Swaro, Zeiss, or Leica. I've haven't used them much more than just checking them out, but everyone I know who jumped on the Vortex bandwagon learned their lesson and jumped right back. Longshooter on here had a Vortex scope that he was all proud of and the focus knob stopped working in the middle of a hunt just after he bought it . The quality just isn't there. They aren't garbage, but the only thing they have in common with Swarovski is the color . Listen to GH on this one.

Great job, congrats on a great bird with a recurve!
