I'd stay away from the .270 for elk. Not saying it won't do the job, just a little light for me. For what you are looking for I'd say a 300 Win fits the bill nicely for an all around, flat shooting, accurate, time tested round with plenty of bullet choices available. A 300 RUM would be a good choice as well, and is what i use for both elk and deer. Good luck.

I think you're wrong there Case. If it was all about respect for the animal, then why put the hunter's name in the book? Seems to me books are all about ego, fame, etc. And as far as the radios go - I don't know Randy personally, although i have ran into him in the hills, but some people i know know him and say he is nothing but the real deal. A genuinely nice guy, who is an extremely gifted hunter. Just because his methods don't match yours doesn't make him a bad guy. A good percentage of people on this site use radios, why not call them out? Comes off as jealousy to me.

That lion looks sweet josh, and I've always liked those sheep mounts of yours CnS. One day I'll get a chance to kill a sheep. Pops is kinda funny about that (posting his pics) I'll see if he minds if i put a few on here. That buck deserves it; just shy of 40" of mass on a Coues is pretty much unheard of!

I respect the heck out of them for doing what they did. Less than 1% failure and they do a complete recall? Good for them. The only guys this hurts is the dealers who are now going to have to switch out limbs. On a side note , the guy I use up here in Vegas, Hoss at Desert outdoor Sports, called me this morning to let me know the deal and ask for my dad's number as he sold him a General a few weeks ago and didn't have his number. Now that's good service.

Thanks Terry, good to see you on here! Yeah, pops and I will be hunting with Brad again this year. We've done pretty well the last few years with him . And no AZ tags for me, or for pops. heck we couldn't draw a tag in 3 states.

+1 Does that mean you don't like the looks of the front design or you just don't like tshirts in general with front designs? Amanda I'm with ajohunter. I like the designs, i just prefer a large design to be on the back with a small design or logo on the front. Just looks better IMO.

Thanks guys Yeah, that was one of the things i liked best about his work too was the ocotillo. He dries that and hand paints it himself. That was really the only direction i gave him was to make it a nice pedestal with some ocotillo in it. His habitat is what really sets him apart in my opinion.
