How many rounds down the tube? How much does she weigh scoped?
-
Couple great goats for sure. What scores did you come up with? Smoker bucks no matter what. Congrats.
-
Saw this on MM as well and they are all saying the same thing there also; 340-360. I think you are right on with your score Christian. His 5ths make up for a lot.

Gun permits are $250, and you can put 2 guns on a permit.

Holy crap Unreal. Huge congrats on a one in a million buck.

A friend of mine has been wanting a GSP for a while so i sent him the link to these guys. He just happened to be going through that part of AZ last week so he stopped and checked them out. He was pretty impressed! Said all pups were retrieving and pointing well already. He still has to convince the wife however

Well, I'll be the first to leave Casey's ugly mug out of this and give a little plug for Jimmy and the boys Last year Longshooter had a unit 10 elk tag, but didn't have much time to scout. I came down from Vegas to help glass but all the spots I knew were on the Boquillas (sp?) as i had a tag there before, but before all the crap went down. Well we only had 2 days to hunt and got skunked on the first day. 2nd day we ran into Jimmy and Craig at a gas station. Longshooter and I introduced ourselves and told them that we didn't see an elk the first day. Well Jim told of us a spot (not a general vicinity, a spot) he almost always sees elk and killed a 350+ bull the year before. About 2 hours after getting to the spot he told us about we were gutting Longshooters first bull. Not a monster, but he was happy. Not many guides would have done that. Thanks again Jim, I hope I can one day return the favor. Kevin

Isn't putting a scope on a 30-30 kinda like out driving your headlights?

Sweet! Good luck to her -
I probably should have posted this a long time ago, as I have been enjoying this mount for a few months now, but better late than never. Anyhow here are a few pictures of my mount from my December '06 buck. He turned out perfect. Chris Harlow did the work, and I couldn't be more pleased. I told him I wanted something a little unique, and I got it. The form is a custom form used first on this deer (but on a couple others since ) that Harlow made himself. It's sort of a half alert, "I got you, but I'm still calm" kind of pose. The attention to detail is just amazing (Notice the wasp's nest?) And since I love skulls so much, and I couldn't give up being able to fondle this buck every once and again (Grong, you might appreciate where I'm coming from), the mount is actually a reproduction, not the actual antlers. But you'd never know to look at it. Big thanks once again to Harlow, I still have to stop and stare just about every day . If anyone is considering using him, I highly recommend doing so. Amazing work.

Agreed! Don't get me wrong, if I see that buck with any weapon in my hands, I'm going after him. I love big 2 points. Check this guy out...

want new rifle, need some help
Coues Sniper replied to cbryant11's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
257 is a great Coues caliber. But for elk, not so much. ESPECIALLY when you throw in long range. -
Both ears appear to be pulled back IMO. It appears his outside spread may reach 30", but i don't think his inside will. That's a tricky picture and a deceiving angle though.

Federal 215M primers ?
Coues Sniper replied to longshooter's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Longshooter, give me a call. The regular 215's are hard to find right now, but i know a place in Vegas that probably has them. I was in Kanab last week and there was a place that had them, i might be able to go thru there this weekend. The Gold Medal Match are pretty easy to get right now however. -
The archery hunters are having a field day this year. Every time i come on here there's another stud velvet buck dead Congrats on a great deer.

I was in Utah a few years ago and saw 2 sets of triplets and a set of twins all on the same ridge! This was in July so they still had spots which was cool. Only seen triplets in Coues once.

Another great archery buck. Congrats!
