I'm sorry, I was thinking you had the 7mm version . With the kind of power you have, and wanting to shoot long distance, i would REALLY look at the larger 210 Berger and 208 A-max bullets. However, I don't think the twist you have will stabilize them. You'd need a 1 in 11 or maybe even 1 in 10. Give the 185's or 190's (Berger) a shot and see how they do. Performance-wise they are like a magic wand on game from all that I have seen and heard. If all else fails I'd consider switching the barrel out for a faster twist. That way you could get the full potential out of that round. You might try switching powders, maybe Retumbo or H1000 but i really think you need a different twist. 308 brought up a good point about the different 338 calibers as well. There are some great bullets coming out in the near future for long-range stuff, and some pretty fine offerings out already. You're in kind of a spot man, I wish you luck

Can't even begin to imagine what you are going through right now. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

+1 on the 3600 fps being too fast for the Bergers. Those J4 jackets are only able to stand up to about 3350 or so. If you wanted to try the Bergers you could try the 180's, still may have to tone it down though.

Dang I hate to agree with Casey since he hates me Holy crap, I actually agree with Casy too. Maybe he's drunk. Anyhow, I feel 6x is a little high for a low end on a 40mm scope. I'd never go below a 50 with a 6x low end (or in general for that matter.) My 2 pennies. I am the drunk one?! Atleast I know how to spll Kevn Pschhh All I spelled wrong was your name. I got the important stuff right

168 grain 7mm pill at 3600 fps with 1/2 moa? Yeah that sucks . Have you shot it 300, 400, 500, etc? I'd look at your long distance groups (if you haven't already) before I changed anything. 168 grains is pretty big (long) for a 7mm, that bullet make take a while to stabilze.

I was thinking the same thing. That thing looks like it can drop dead at any time. I am surprised his rack was as big as it was for being so malnourished. Don't make him feel any worse SBD has quite a history with that old buck. Tyson, I'm sure that guy is holding out till august for ya when you can slip an arrow in him -
I'm with SBD on the score. Sweet bull AZMEAT, hope the kid whacks him

+1 Saving for my DREAM rig right now, the action is bought and paid for. I may have a buddy who'll jump all over this though... Cool. have your buddy call me. Thx. Well, he salivated all over himself too, but can't do it either. Too bad; seems like a sweet deal. Good luck to you.

Yeah, that's pretty much the whole problem -
I can't help you with any loads for the 7 RUM, but have you tried ReloadersNest or LongRangeHunting.com? Those would be my first couple places to look.

That shed was officially scored by Amanda and by Josh for NASHC at 79 6\8" freakin unreal and to top it off, it is off of a buck still on the hoof on one of Jims ranches he intends to hunt this year Unreal is an understatement That's what dreams are made of right there. Does Jim need help carrying his gun or anything down there? I work cheap -
