Check out this MONSTER buck!
Coues Sniper replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
You guys must be really confident nobody will be able to find this deer. Posting video of a buck like that before he's dead is just a terrible idea. Very little if any upside, huge downside. That being said, he's a tremendous deer, good luck on him. -
Great buck. I really like the matching inline extras. Congrats on a stud of a buck.

My "Do It Yourself" Bear Hunt.....
Coues Sniper replied to COOSEFAN's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
Awesome story and write up Jim, as always. I can't beleive you got those kind of pictures by yourself! And I have to say, that bear doesn't look that small to me. How big is the skull, and what do you guess he weighed? Congrats on a great trophy, for multiple reasons . -
Wasted My Late Dec Tag For Archery Buck
Coues Sniper replied to standman's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Congrats on an excellent buck. He's well deserved . And it's great that you are donating the tag to a worthy cause. Definitely not a waste anyway you look at it! -
Jim gave you some amazing advice and pointers there, which shouldn't surprise anyone . One thing I would add is something you mentioned in your post about cow calling. I hardly cow call at all anymore. There are too many guys out there that think it's like an easy button and just way over-do it. When it seems like your cow calling becomes an alarm, switch up your call. Avoid simple squeeze calls and try to master a diaphragm call if you haven't already. They're much more versatile and also have the benefit of being hands free. And you won't sound like every other joker out there wearing out his "Hoochie Mama" scaring everything within a quarter mile Good luck man

Nice pics! I'd really like to see that freak bull put some years on him

Matt Liljenquist's Potential New World Record Archery Mule Deer
Coues Sniper replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
Just a gorgeous buck. Congrats to all involved. Chad Smith is the real deal. He put my old man on a goat a couple years ago that was flat out amazing. If Pops could have put an arrow in him, he would have been the new world record. He was killed on the rifle hunt and still went like 91+" - busted. One horn was over 20" if I remember right. -
NICE buck, congrats man!

nohoch - your avatar scares the buhjeezes out of me And Chrissy, they're just kidding around - take it easy.

Isn't that two great bears in a row??? Really nice bear, congrats.

Bulls will bugle some pretty much year round. I've heard them from July to January. They'll start getting more and more frequent from now till rut, but there's no real rut yet. They're just playing around
-
Welcome to the addiction my friend. It only gets worse from here Now get out there and put an arrow in that buck.

Hunting Water after a big rain
Coues Sniper replied to double lunger14's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I've sat after a rain. Pretty much a waste. Very young deer will come in out of habit, but mature deer know better. Plenty of other places to find water after a rain besides a tank. Give it a week at the very least. -
130" archery Coues is becoming an every year thing now. Crazy. Those two bucks are absolute pigs.
-
Sir, if you can tell that elk is limping from those photos, I want you on my hunting team!! +1 TJ Another +1 He does look thin. His spine looks to be very visible .
-
Beleive me, there are chiggers in AZ. Lots in places. This year should be awful with the rains.

Need a new pair of boots for this season, and am looking at the Meindl Ibex. Anyone here have any experience wih them? I can't find any reviews on them. I looked at the Perfekt Hunters which have tons of good reviews, but they are insulated, and a little too heavy for my liking. The Ibex are uninsulated and only 3.2 lbs/pair at 9" which sounds perfect. I was initially looking at the Danner Jackals, but have heard too many people say they don't last. Thanks in advance, Kevin
-
Hahaha! Now that's a review .
-
So Coach and izquick, your feet don't get hot in the Perfekts in warm weather? My feet sweat easy, even in fancy socks . I haven't worn insulated boots in years.

Sorry about the meat, but NICE buck!
