Depends on how hard it's raining. I've found a light drizzle to be pretty productive. Especially around rut. I think as long as the rain isn't heavy enough to bother them, they feel more comfortable as it provides a bit of "cover". Keeping yourself and your bow/rifle dry is the only issue. If it's raining really hard though, they try to get out of it - IMO. Give it a go, you can't kill one from the couch. Good luck.

You're one year closer to being an old pervert, instead of just a pervert Happy birthday sir.

If those pictures don't do him justice, I'd hate to see the dam thing in person. STUD. Congrats on another giant Jeremy, you're just being greedy now -

Not me. Post 'em NOW!! -
Really like the look of that buck, congrats! Neat character and loads of mass. You put a tape to him?
-
Awesome bull, love the mass and character.
-
Gorgeous buck. I thought for sure those beams and 4's would push him over the 170 mark. Very nice!
-
Really nice buck, congrats! I like that character point on his right. I actually prefer them narrow, all you're measuring is air anyways.

How much does 'canting' your rifle affect accuracy?

Ignore the peanut gallery Mike. I think it may just be over their heads . Thank you for the post, and all the helpful information you contribute to this site. -
I understand and agree with what you are saying CnS, but I fear it will fall on deaf ears. The guys that fling lead when they have no business doing so just don't care and won't listen. That's why they do that stuff in the first place. I appreciate those that put in the time and know their limits, but the average guy is a flippin dum dum. And by the way, the margin for error at 800 isn't half of that at 400; it's much less IMO .

Great buck. Love them narrow like that! Congrats.

Congrats again man on a great ram. Just wish I could have been there with you!

What states are included in the topo?

Typical??? WR typical carp is 226 Case.
-
Typical I'd say about 205 typical then. Clean 120" coues are pretty dang hard to come by. I'd say 205 clean is a pretty equal comparison.

Typ or nontyp?

Chuckar Plucker is holding out on us... Post 'em up bro

That buck is just awesome. Love them high and tight. To get to 119 with 16" beams on a typical 3 point frame is pretty friggin tough. -

+1!!!! -
That's mass-tastic!

Great year for deer in general. Good age class, and good timing on rains. Spring was too late for elk however.

Jim, Could you post a picture of your rig with just the rifle attachment on? I have friends who have done something similar to this for years; they epoxied a tripod bracket like you would attach to your scope, bino's, etc to the stock of their rifle. Then attached it like you would anything else to the tripod. I just hated having something attached to the fore end of the stock as i usually carry my rifle in one hand when walking. This seems lower profile, but longer also. I just worry about it being a nuisance.
