    Long Range Dink 1,243 yards

Some of you guys are worse than a sewing circle. Everyone on here should know THEIR OWN limitations, and keep others' out of it. Period. I follow the rule "never take a shot that you wouldn't be surprised if you miss". That and practice enough to have confidence in your setup is all you can ask of anyone.

    Long 3pt. Coues

Great frame, but man is he spindly. Curious what his mass total was?

    Mule deer or Coues deer?

Negative. That is 100% Coues, and a dandy.
  8. ^^^ This. Just an amazing deer Jim. Congrats to you and your client. Score schmore, that's a deer of a lifetime in my book.

    Monster 2 point!!

Ah man, that is right in my wheelhouse. I have a lifetime goal of killing a 2-point that goes 100+, and that pig smashes that. Extremely jealous. Congrats on an awesome, rare, and unique trophy.

    Guestimate the Score!

105-ish. That 4th wrap on his left will be nice

    wtb kuiu

Keep an eye on ebay and archerytalk. They pop up every so often. Although on ebay they usually go for more than Kuiu's price. Supply vs demand...
  12. That's awesome Jim. Nothing better than having some history with a deer, and harvesting him after his prime. We guessed my big deer at 5 1/2 and it still kills me to think what he may have turned into. No way I would have passed him, but I still dream about him with some years on him. Now THAT is what you look for in a guide. I admire the fact that you have killed some monster bulls and great bucks, but it's never been you behind the trigger. Nothing turns me off more than when you look at an outfitter's website and its the guide killing all the big trophies. Some are on this site. Big time congrats Jim on a great buck - Looking forward to the story and MORE PICS!!!

    my best buck. SO FAR...

Great frame on that buck. Neat deer, congrats.

Need some expert Coues glassing advice

In my experience, bucks are in small bachelor groups this time of year and may or may not be around does. If you've seen bucks in your spot in the past this time of year or during scouting - stick it out. They are likely close. If not, I might try a new spot. It's sometimes just a morale boost to look at some new country, and can give you and your eyes that spark you need to get out of your "doe rut". If you find the same problem where you move to, go back to your original spot - with a refreshed attitude .
  15. Sweet ram! Too bad he doesn't carry his mass very well Love the way he drops so low - is this the ram from your "Hunt pics II" on your blog? Congrats to all involved!
  16. How old do you think the deer was Jim?
  17. Character is off the charts Jimbo. That "J Hook" dropper is one in a million.
  18. I have found the same to be true in my limited sheep experience; all we have in NV are the Nelsoni. Looks like you have some great sheep found. Good luck to you guys.

    Drop tine bucks.

Seen several Coues, and killed a couple. Don't think I've ver seen a mule deer with one though. Madx, that deer is a stud.
