Looking for hydro dip services for a rifle stock. Any suggestions would be helpful and appreciated. I've called few found online but they seem to have closed

Thanks do you have a valid phone number?

I've done some research on this subject and it everything is pointing at the .243 as a better round for coyotes and mule deer but I thought I would ask the local forum. I've been looking at the Tikka 22-250 and .243 for the light weight and rumored accuracy they are known for. Any opinion would be greatly appreciated...Rifle will be mainly used for coyotes and deer

22-250 or .243 for yotes and mulies
AR15RDY replied to AR15RDY's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Rifle is to be used in the Arizona desert and mountains. Mostly for yotes and mule deer. I do a lot of walking and glassing. After my pack, tripod w/binos and Viper 6-20x44 going to be mounted on this rifle is why weight is taken into consideration. Especially after you get a deer down. The 24 vs 22 concern is because distances is longest 500 yards but more realistic within 300 yard shots. -

I've been leaning more towards the 25-06 for its versatility. Just trying to narrow down manufacturers for the best choice tikka, weatherby vanguard s2, browning x bolt. Trying to keep the weight down and stay with a minimum 24" barrel -

I was trying to stay with a light weight rifle like the Tikka and they only offer a few calibers -

Most comments I read was the concern with the 22-250 was it's effective range and knockdown power -
What do you guys zero in your .223 predator rifles in at?

Selling a Winchester model 70 7mm for $450 obo It has no more than 50 rounds down the barrel, it's only been on 3 hunts and has been stored away over the last 10 years. Has a 3-9x50 Bushnell banner scope.

Barrel length 16" also?

I'm going to try a 55 and 60 grain bullet. I usually use 55. I have a box of 40 grain I've never tried yet. I'm glad I posted this question because everyone has been very helpful.
-
Well I'm heading to the range tomorrow and will zero in at 100 or 200 yards still not sure leaning more at 100. Any preferences on bullets? My twist rate is 1/9 so I don't think I should go above 55 grain
-
I think another factor is I sighted my rifle in using 55 grain varmegedon rounds and was shooting 53 grain supervarmit Hornady rounds today
-
Didn't have my range finder on me but I know he was well over a 100 when I glassed him up on the binos just sitting and laying there listening to my call. All grey and white faced, he was a very big cat.
-
Thanks any information regarding this its greatly appreciated. I think my best bet would learn to use turrets. My zero is usually 25 yards but today I missed a really nice bobcat I glassed up in the binos and a fox. I think the distance played a major role in missing the bobcat. The fox I just missed, I shot at it right after shooting at the bobcat on the same stand so my heart was pumping and I couldn't calm the nerves after seeing this huge bobcat walk off! He just didn't like the sound in that canyon but was never worried while I was shooting at him!

So unfortunately we weren't successful this year in 22 but we came across these images. Just wondering if anyone has seen these before or has an opinion if they're real? It was located north of rye/Gilmore springs area in a thick area on top of a mountain that didn't have any trails leading to it. I can't imagine that someone would climb this mountain just to scratch these in the boulders and hope someday when some random hunter came through beating the brush would see them..
-
Well I decided to go out one more time and worry about work tomorrow... My cousin and I found these guys meandering around at 145 yards off at 10 am and we let the Varmageddon/Hornady eat!
-
Well if so it was impressive, there was different piles of boulders with similar drawings. Only if we could have found some javelina...regardless just being outdoors if you glass enough and cover ground you can usually find something pretty cool. Thanks for your input
