Don't know where OP is at (location), but I just left Dicks Sporting Goods with a 10' Sit on top fishing kayak for $200. They are marked $239, but this one had a scratch and the store discounted it. Don't know how good it is, but for the price I will find out this weekend.

Better? The question for me is not which is better, but intended use. I have a Spot as well and I like it and it suits my needs. I can check in and send for help. The downside is I can't receive text. If you want to communicate go with Inreach, if you want to be able to just call for help go with Spot. My 2 cents for what its worth.
