hey Tyson, I'm not sure you being 6'2''/210lbs. is a defense that's going to help you considering Oprah is like 5'2''/310lbs.

I did my 1st half marathon (13.1 mi.) last Jan. and am doing another this Jan. It was great but I hear full marathons are a whole nother story. Most say at aroud 18 mi. you want to die and it is no longer any fun, but hey, knock yourself out! I'll try one eventually.

If your in need of a good mechanic you need to call Steve at Fast MOBILE Auto Repair. He is the most honest and reliable mechanic I've ever met! When my tranny blew up last year just days before I had to leave for a hunt he came right over and put a brand new tranny in right at my house! My ac compressor just went out and he came and put a new one in right here at the house! When I was stuck on the side of the road 2 years ago with a cooling system leak at 4am I called him up and he told me how to fix it enough to get me home and then he came and fixed it! I have sent several friends to this guy and they were all completely satisfied! I had a friend that called him because he had got a quote from another mechanic and thought it sounded high. Steve told him that the quote was actually cheaper than he could do it himself. This guy is always honest and always reliable! If you need a mechanic HE WILL COME TO YOU!!! Most of the ballistics I've looked at have taught me that people make a bigger deal out of it than it really is. General rule of thumb is that it doesn't make a big enough difference to worry about it until you get out to 400yds. and/or beyond 30 degrees of angle. Nobody I know is shooting angles like that at 400+yds. Most people over compensate for angles from what I've read and heard. I'm only referring to bullets and not arrows. Arrow flight is affected more by angles. I'm no expert and if I'm wrong I would love to hear if any of you have different experiences.

Another tip is 5'' for eyegaurds. Unless you get a good look at the eyeguards which most of the time there to far away to really see them 5'' is a good average on any mature 85''+ buck. I don't have a structured system for all bucks quite like Desert Sheep but I just have a whole bunch of numbers trapped in this head of mine. A friend of mine uses the white part of the inner ear as a reference. It is almost always 6''. There is no right or wrong way as long as it works for you.

Personally I couldn't agree more with Desert Bull, if you like him shoot him. But being a guide you have to be able to pick 'em apart because some clients read way too many magazines and watch too many videos in my opinion. With that being said I would recommend scoring as many sheds and heads as you can and remember averages for different size racks. For example I use 20'' of mass as an average for an 80'' buck, 25'' for a 90''er, and 30'' for 100''+. If I'm field judging a 90'' class buck I look to see if he is above or below average on mass and them give him 23''- 28'' as I see fit. These are just approximate numbers because there all different. You can use this method for all your measurements. It gets me close enough, hope it works for you. The secret is to score as many racks and sheds as you can get your hands on!

Way to go Mullins and Dunn families!!! It's killin' me not being with you guys this season but it will all be worth it when I'm a firefighting, coues/elk slaying/guiding, (and while I'm throwing my dreams out) multi-millionaire! :lol: Sounds like the perfect hunt that we all dream of!
