Hey JACK, thanks for sharing with us and definatly keep us posted! I'm coming up with 109 on that buck but don't claim to be any closer than within 5'' so drop him and let's find out. I hope you get your 120 but don't let to many good bucks go to get him. I can relate, I've let several go and ate a few tags. I'm not trying to tell you what to do with your tag but if your dad tags out and you've only got a couple days left then there's no shame in going 2 for 2 on toads! Good luck to you guys and your wife.

Hey BASS that's easily done. AG, how many members in your family? I would imagine most families could fit in a rhino but if you have a big family then the ranger would be the way to go. If that doesn't work then how about 2 rhino's or 1 and a quad. It's only money, you can't take it with you.

Don't worry Jimbo, I roped him and through him in the back of my truck! He's in my backyard mowing my grass right now. In late Oct. he's goin down south with us for a little huntin' trip. I figure we pin him up around camp and hunt for a bigger one for 6 days. If we don't find one, well.................... -
I sure do love my RHINO!

Went scouting for elk
shortpants replied to shortpants's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Hey THUNDERBOLT, thanks for doing that. HUNT4HORNS, horn growth for elk is actually terrible this year so the fact that you found 2 bulls that would go over 380 is rare this year compared to last year. As for deer their horn growth is as good as I've ever seen it. The reason deer are good and elk are not so good is elk rely on winter snowpack to create spring and early summer forage because thats when they do most of their horn growth. Deer on the other hand do most of their growing in late summer so they depend on the monsoon. Feel free to P.M. me the location of those 380 bulls you saw cause I've been looking all summer and ain't found 'em yet! -
Welcome home buddy, I missed you!

I found a matching set of carp sheds in 5b south yesterday. Only the second time I've found a pair. Just thought it was kinda cool. I'll post pics later.

Isn't it amazing how we hunters can fail, fail, and fail some more and yet each time we fail we only want to go back and try some more? It drives us and I for one love it!

who hunts with ballistic tip ammo?
shortpants replied to AZ RANGER's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Now that you mention it my friend killed an old 84'' buck a few years back and his shot blew a 6'' section of hide off his side. Another interesting note about that buck is we found a .22 cal. bullet in him. By the way my friend was shooting a 300wby. mag. w/150gr. ballistic tips. -
would a treestand work in this area or goundblind? do you know where their bedding?watering? without seeing the area or at least having a better understanding of the layout it will be hard for anyone here to give you a good answer.

That looks a lot like the buck in my dreams!

I totally respect your opinions Diamondbackaz, ''to each his own''. My rhino will be street legal very soon. You can put tops, doors, heaters, dancing girls, you name it they make it for these things. I wish I could afford a jeep to so we could go do some crawlin'!

try a camera shop.

Hey mzlloader, thats a great example of how we as hunters are in a position to help out these ranchers and gain access to prime hunting areas, not to mention we gain his/her respect and make new friends in the process.

big elk and deer my buddy killed (pics)

heck he's doin better than I am. Whats my excuse? That's awesome that he does'nt wait for life to make something good for him, he goes out and makes good things happen in life. We should all follow his example. -
Probably not, The one vehicle I use the most is my 97 Jeep wrangler with an automatic transmission. I can drive it on the highway and also offroad. I can take the top and doors off and put it back on when it rains, I can turn on the heater when it gets cold, or the AC when it gets hot. I can throw the wife in the passenger seat and take her along for a ride in the country. I paid $9,000 for this a couple of years ago which would be less than a Rhino. The 97 and newer wranglers have coil springs which ride nice offraod, especially if you install Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks. Adjust the shocks down to zero stiffness and you gently bounce over the rocks. the big difference between a jeep and a rhino is not price, but comfort and speed. I can cover five times as much ground in a day on the rhino as I can my truck or a jeep. Jeeps will go pretty much anywhere but not very quickly an not very smoothly. My advice is to test drive all the options out there and decide for yourself. I've yet to meet someone who does'nt fall in love with the rhino the first time. I know it sounds like I'm a salesperson for these things but I swear to you I'm not. I just love mine and want everyone to know it. The add I put in the classified section on here is not me trying to make a buck. My brother sales them but he's not hurting for money so bad that I've got to beg you guys to buy one. I just think their great even for the price.

Randy Ulmer is the definition of my signature. He hunts harder and longer for the animals he harvests than anypne I know. I just wish I had the time and sponsorships that he has.

Good luck, be sure to share your story and pics!

Hey Buddy, can you spare some change?
shortpants replied to az4life's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
What's happening to my beloved AZ.? Strangers are coming and old friends are leaving. This state needs more people like you and less like ''them!'' Wyoming is lucky to have you. Send us loys of luck and good luck to you and your family. -
ALWAYS LEAVE THEM AS YOU FIND THEM. The way it works is forest land is divided up into sections which are leased to cattle ranchers all over the state. These ranchers are allowed to let their cattle feed in a particular section for so long and then they have to move them to another section. The ranchers do this by cutting off all water supplies in one section and turning water on in the new section. They open the gates between the two and the cattle make their way into the new section. Once the rancher has a head count of all his cattle into the new section he closes the gates. IF YOU COME ALONG AND CLOSE THE GATE PREMATURELY YOU COULD BE KILLING THE RANCHERS COWS BY CUTTING THEM OFF FROM THEIR WATER SUPPLY. YOU COULD ALSO BE COSTING THE RANCHER MONEY IN FINES FOR HAVING HIS CATTLE IN ONE SECTION TO LONG. The best thing we as hunters can do is get to know these landowners and ranch hands and work with them.

How much? I would love to get one as a gift for someone!
