WOW!!! I actually had the spread, mass, and non-typical points almost right on. It's the typical measurements that threw me a curve??? His beams are much longer than I thought. Thanks for posting that Mike and thanks for not slamming me for beating up on that beautiful buck of yours!

As you can see I was way off! Although he has a few extra points his beams look very short to me, he has no g-3 on the right, his mass on the left looks below average for a buck that scores that high??? Please don't take this the wrong way I'd shoot that buck without hesitation even with a rifle! I think he's an exceptional buck! I'm just trying to figure out how I blew this one so bad. I'd be interested in the measurements if you wouldn't mind posting them? Congrats again Mike on an incredible accomplishment and please don't be mad at me for being such a critic I'm just trying to learn from my mistakes. For me it's as easy as shoot or don't shoot anymore and in this case it would be shoot without a doubt!

I hate to be the one to give a negative report but my good friend and hunting partner just returned from unit 9 with a bad report. He heard a few bugles but nothing worth getting exited over. He said the bulls that were bugling were only doing so about once every 20-30 minutes. Our guess is they are still transitioning from their bachelor areas to their breeding grounds. Also there is water everywhere up there so they are more spread out this year than in most years.

Traditionaly I've hunted mostly grassy hillsides spotted with juniper/mesquite trees. I've also hunted lower in ocotillos and suguaro country. I would hunt on the moon if you I knew there was a big coues buck up there.

I have to agree with Amanda. I look at it like this, I have found it is easier to walk up on does that are looking at me than it is to walk up on bucks. Bucks just seem to have a 6th sense and are just more skidish (SP?) than does.

It all sounds good, I would only add make sure you have a solid rest for the butt of the rifle as well. It is crucial on long range shots to have both front and rear rests like a tripod or shooting sticks/bi-pod. The last deer I shot I had the front of my rifle in a v shaped notch on top of a boulder and had to stick my rangefinder under the butt of the rifle so I could line up the buck in the scope just right. It was as solid as a gun vice and the shot was perfect. Sometimes you have to improvise on the spot but you should always take your time and make sure your setup is solid.

I'm interested in these, just wondering if anybody has any input good or bad. I can tell you that I'm not impressed by the 5 year warranty. How can you charge so much and not show the same confidence as your competitors? Does anybody make something that compares to these?(bino/rangefinder combo)
