Elk hunt starts the 12th. Having problems sleeping. Have to stop myself from loading up and heading out 2 weeks early. Keep shooting targets and doing pushups.

Hiked to to the bottom when I was 12 with a youth group. Back when shotgun news and soldier of fortune magazine were the coolest thing to spend time looking at. Those were the days. Swapmeet backpack made for a 6 foot tall man. Army surplus canteens and 20 dollar payless shoes steel shank carpenter boots I thought were combat boots. Also hiked the hermit trail with pretty much the same gear and ended up hiking hours in the dark by the end of the trip. To be young again.

I remember hearing by first wild burro in that area back around 92 and thinking how odd it was. Now they are more numbers than the elk.

All units have giant's but 10 has some big bucks and with all the cheap squatter type land around that unit with inhabitants that usually kill whatever they want including cattle.and all the powerlines around I'm still amazed at the quality of game in 10.

I fricken hate camp shitters!!!! Alot of RV guys dumping tanks out there also. I don't like even leaving my fire ring and people do what they do these days. I guess that's what happens when people move from a state with zero public land and obviously get camping lessons from watching the homeless that live around their old communist land. They treat it like a dirt lot behind walmart.

Another 700 ish General cow tags after that. And deer season to. 20-30 years ago 10 was so amazing to hunt. Now I hate it. But, I have still always been able to find elk whenever I go there and with an any elk road huntable tag you should be able to have an amazing hunt still.

Everyone I know with a crossbow is actually disabled. They do it for the over the counter opportunity. I can out shoot a short stroke crossbow shooting 14 inch bolts with my compound bow at a standing position all day. These guys don't go very far and usually sit water. And they do hunt rifle. When they get drawn... dont see OTC handicap tags for rifle so until that happens the true handicap are going to do what they can get away with.

I doubt any forest service 3/4 ton pickup truck is going to catch a ATV anyways. Not like they can call back up down the road if someone just out runs them.

Get rid of OTC tags for non residents.

Great videos!! Have also watched a few of your videos in the past. I do wish your az videos didn't show so much background. YouTube has caused a flood of people intruding on once sacred and secret places in this state. Not trying to offend you in any way.

Also I believe there is a muzzy bull hunt during the same time. Might run into bull hunters who have located groups..

Gotta remember it's the same commission that puts a minimum poundage for archery on big game animals at 30 lbs. Colorado has archery ,muzzleloader and rifle hunts at the same time. Bowhunter just got shot by a muzzleloader hunter. Got some real idiots making the rules.

Brush blinds with black landscape fabric stapled on the inside have worked well for me.

The two archery elk hunt idea would be great if the archery cow tag holders kept the longer season still and the bull tags got split.
