What coues caliber to build off a Remington 700 Long Action
Zeke-BE replied to CouesPursuit's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Rechamber it for 6.5 and buy yourself a new barrel and you could be shooting a 6.5 -06. Lots of people do it. If you want more umpump out of it make it a 6.5-06 AI -
Let me know. Because all I know is that most jumbo queens are usually sold to restaurants

Picking up Shotgun Shells
Zeke-BE replied to PRDATR's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
I always keep my full choke on. I haven't shot Mod for over a decade. Dove and clay pigeons (full choke) gets you ready for the fast long range shots for quail. -

Stop bragging Lance!!! I still limited out before you!! I guess that counts right? And so what if I picked up 48 shells -

Ive literally walked up to deer up to 10 ft, elk 30ft and bear 20 ft. All in the wild. (not stumbled upon, but walked on purpose strait to them to see what they would do) It happens!

I have a f 250 that weighs in at 9900 lbs. My last tires were E walls. My mech. pointed out that they sold me D walls on my new tires. Both tires were the Hankook Dynopro LT315/ 70/ 17. My new D wall are 50 psi max and load range is 3,150 lbs a tire. This should put me 675 lbs per tire extra. My camper trailer when loaded is around 10-12lbs. Are these tires good?

If and when do you lower your standards?
Zeke-BE replied to no worries's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Kids get so excited and never think it will be that hard. They also get very very bumbed out if they don't get one. As oneshot said above ^^^ but I'll add to it! Don't give your 16 year old a new truck, mustang, best of anything. This is a simple concept of psychology people always enjoy and learn more when they learn from the small things first. When we were given the best from the get go even though we think it's exciting it's not always best for the young kids. If they decide for themselves or (save up for that new truck) they will know they accomplished it themselves and worked hard for it. For me they will be just as happy to shot one. If they don't get one it becomes a learning lesson from them. They get one they will be ecstatic. Let it grow naturally for them. -

To all the archery "hunters" in 24A (Pinal Mt Area)
Zeke-BE replied to whiteeye's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Really!! I hunt anything anywhere! Off the road and deep into canyons. I really hate driving past nice glassing vantage points. So if this glassing point is off the road road and I can see a mile out then please ol please tell my why do I need to hike a mile out to do some glassing when I can just jump out and check it out from the road. But I see your point from the moral hunting sort of code, that you need to make it an effort to get out and make it happen kind of thing. In my defense on that matter I always hike in and hunt, not before I glass off a few areas off the road first. -

Just a reminder with the monsoons weather bring out the Colorado toads. Dogs start foaming and start acting weird. It's serious because they kill more dogs than rattlesnake. I think last year a couple of CCW dogs got into some.

Ok doing lots of research. Let's make sure I got this right. Lots of sites I've been on say don't worry about the wall size it's the max lbs to worry about??? Also the same tire I have in E wall is the same lbs. And there are some D walls that can handle more lbs than the E walls. Obviously there's some type of engineering is going on. But it seems logically if both carry the same amount of pounds and one has thicker walls you think it would be safer with the thicker walls.? But if the other can handle it it shouldn't have a problem? Am I just going crazy??
