Shoot off sand bags, sled, stands, bi pod?
Zeke-BE replied to Zeke-BE's topic in Long Range Shooting
I see your point and it makes complete since, but my goal at the time was one not to beat up my shoulder while shooting 30 hot loads of 300 win mags, and 2 I wanted to truly see if the rifle shoots good groupings without human error on my part, and I almost 100% perfectly still while I let the rifle surprise me on the shot from a sled. Then after I choose my load I want Ill practice. But right now I'm chasing a load I want. But I've seen a lot of your load developments and your pulling 1/2 groupings off a bipod and a rear sand bag. Thats awesome. I just don't think im there yet. My concern was that I might have a perfect load and Im screwing up the groupings and blaming it on the load instead of myself. If I find a perfect load and then practice and start seeing it spread apart then I know for a fact its me. Unless shooting off a sled, or a stand of some sort truly will cause it to shoot differently Ill shoot it from the bipod and bags? -

New Sportsman's Warehouse in Avondale
Zeke-BE replied to lancetkenyon's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Huh thats funny because the Sportsman in Mesa Saturday I walked out with 1000 of the same primers. He walks out with the whole box and said he just got a shipment. Maybe because of the grand opening i guess. I was feeling pretty good about myself thinking i found the only box of gm210m primers. I guess not -

He always ran funny when he was on Norter Dame. But his rookie year he was impressive, and last year he caught more then Fitzgerald, but then again everybody double team Fitzs and left Floyd open. Im glad Carson is throwing him the ball more this year.

Bell & Carlson are very nice and the weigh about 2.5#. So if it is coming from a synthetic stock you will probably add another pound

Yeah I ordered mine Friday from here. Free bump

This will be a hunting/ target shooting gun, so I want the 140s for the higher BC and 400-500 yard deer shots. But for a 400 yard shot with 120s you will probably still hit dead nuts.

Long story short Ive been day dreaming about the creedmoor for a few years now. Im getting my .270 worked on this winter, and almost have a load set up for my 300 win mag. But Yesterday I bought a Weatherby Vanguard series 2, 6.5 creedmoor with a 24" barrel. Im also going to order a Bell and Carlson stock here tomorrow. I'm very excited for this rifle for the lighter recoil,(more shooting) instead of my hot load .270 and hot load 300 winmag I picked up Bergers VLD 140 grains, Nosler Accubonds (not LRange) 140 grains, and ordered from Midway ELD-X 143 grains. Im excited for the Bergers, more so for the ELD-x, and maybe just try out the Accubonds. Accubonds are probably my favorite game bullet, and has performed well in my .270 and centered plate 750 yards, so Im still going to give them a shot, but the BC on them is .50 while the BC on the ELD-x and Bergers are in the .61- .62 range. But for my powder question I have is that I have 3 pounds of w760, 1 pound of RE-15, and IMR 4895. Now the bergers book has a load for the 760 and the Nosler book has the Imr 4895, RL 15, and 760. I think ill get around to testing all of these powders because i think its fun trying to find load datas, but to start off with one right now which one do you guys favor more or have had better luck with???

I was just reloading 100 new Hornady 6.5 creedmoor brass with 210 match primers. My handl held RCBS primer seemed to be having a real hard time seating the primers. It was extremely hard to set it all the way in. Is it common for the brass to be the problem, the primer, or the hand held primer devise?? I haven't had this much problem with priming my 300 win mag a month ago.

I never had this much problem before. Can you educate me on this uniform procedures ?I use the Lyman case prep in the photo below. Only uniform primer pockets 1 time.I have RCBS case prepper but it doesn't have a primer pocket device. Can I order one that will attach to it?I am pretty sure you can. If you have the case prep shown in the picture than I am sure you can order the primer pocket uniformer also shown below. Sportsman's Warehouse probably has them in stock and the thread patter should be the same for the Lyman or RCBS. Awesome thanks! From the spec above it looks like federal is the largest

After a few intense snake encounters October is usually off the list. -
