You can look into Athlon Argos which is around 350 but competes at a 500 range or look into the Athlon Midas 4.5-27x50 which is 590 dollars but all the reviews I've seen beat out the 900 dollar vortex PST 6-24x50 . I know I keep bringing up Athlon but I got a few and they are great glass and cheaper then everyone else.

Wow jaw dropping

Your doing great!!! Keep at it! I almost got a 70 yard shot (maxed for me) a couple weeks ago myself! I will watch them most of the time and only put a stalk on them when it favors me. For example if they are feeding in my direction Ill cut them off and if only if the wind is in my favor too. If I cant do that Ill watch them for a while and maybe around noon they might bed for a little bit and try to make a stalk. Desert hunting can be hard! I still don't have archery buck yet, but I've stalked the biggest 190 inch buck within 40 yards and got busted my does so its fun!

Who's got the Ford Focus with other hunting stickers such as Browning off of Ellsworth and Guadalupe about 5:30 pm?

Always room to learn! I just finally got a good habit to adjust my body strait behind the gun, breath out and look down and see how far off target and then readjust.. That helps keeps the recoil strait back and im on back on target after the shot. I've come to find out that long range shooting is alot like golf. Technique, body movement, form, and breathing! The difference between golf and long range shooting is that long range shooting is for Men!!

Federal 215 primer super tight in new brass and one real bad
Zeke-BE replied to apache12's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
My Fed 210 did the same thing! I got the reamer and that solved it but still slightly tight to get on. That was virgin Nosler brass though. After they were shot they seated just perfect -
That's a good looking rifle right there!! What is the total weight?? You also have your load set up how is she grouping??
-
Rifles as mention above but in a 300 win mag. Im shooting 300 win mag Remington 700 26" barrel 12# gun, 208 ELD-M and pushing it right at 3,000 fps. That's good enough for elk at long range! If you want a bigger hammer for that distant, 338 Lapua, or 300 RUM will get the job done!

Get the euros!!! Save you a ton of money then look through your buddies Swaros for 10 minutes and you will see just the edge of the glass ever ever ever so slightly just barley better then your euros, but nothing at all noticeable, especially when you are focusing on glassing for animals you won't even notice it or even can pick it up.

I had a 12 x Nikon and it was to much to free hand. Use 10s if you want to,free hand.

If its a choice only between 15s Swaros or Razor 12s go with the Swaros! But look into the Cabelas Euros 15s these guys competed right there with the Swaros 15s HD (but Swaros are slighty better on the outsdie of the glass thats all I can tell from). Ive compared my Euros to my Uncle brand new Swaros and very gland I went a thousand dollars cheaper Euros for something i have a really hard time seeing the difference.

Im Scout Master over the Varsity Scouts. We have been brain storming a big camp out this june in the White Mountains. I grew up going up there and I still go every year. But its been years since Ive been down the Black were the West and East Fork combined and heads down to Wildcats crossing. I was thinking of backing packing in with the boys and doing some fishing. Looking at Google earth it looks like a lot of rock slides have slide into the river because of the Wallow fire in 2011. Has anyone been back there since? I know the Black holds some good trout and I also know that you can fish it all day and only catch 3 fish, but it would be nice if the boys can at least catch a couple of fish instead of the whole troop getting skunked! I know they are stocking the East Fork river but not the West Fork.

I have a pair of Euros 15x and love them. The quality is great and suggested by others on here it is right behind Swaros if not better then Zeiss or the same. But I bought a Athlon Cronus 4.5-29x56 scope and could tell the glass was really good. And for the price it was a no brainer. If the glass was good I also needed a 8x for archery and hunting in the Pines and pinyons, so I contacted Chris (Douglas-gun-guy) on the forum since he is a dealer for Athlon and bought me the Athlon Cronus 8.5x42 binos. The glass on these are very clear. I compared them to my Nikon Monarch 5s 12x42. I know the power is different but I wanted to see glass. It wasn't just a tad difference it was a lot. As soon as you looked through it you could tell there was a major difference. So I compared it to my Cableas Euros 15x and could tell the glass was right there with it. Then I compared it to the Euros when it was getting dark to compare. The Cronus was right there with the Euros. There was no comparison to the Nikon. Even tried them inside the house and it seemed brighter in my optic then what it really was. The Nikon made it darker then what it really was. I probably spent 30 mins on these total so I don't have lots of hours on them yet. The Cronus feels nice in my hands and fits to my eyes perfect. I would say its right there with glass quality to the Euros as of right now. The Nikon is 12x around $350 and the 8x is around $300. These Cronus are around 450-480 and I got it better less then that when Chris had it on the Holiday Sale. I know Athlon is trying get their foot in the market and keeping prices low. My belief once they get a hold these binos will probably go up to 1200 and the scope will probably go well over 2500. But for right now don't waste money on a $350 bino when you can spend a 100-200 more and get a 1000 dollar quality pair, or even a 800-900 dollars bino like the Vortex don't waste your time. My Euros beats the crap out of my brothers 900 dollar 15s night and day. Like the Cableas Euros they are right behind just a slight notch behind the Swaros and for half the cost they are a no Brainer!! Just like these Cronos they are a no brainer for the cost. Right now they only make 8.5x and 10x. I don't know why they havent made 15s yet. If this helps anyone take a look into it.

Huh my guess they have done this before and have a system down. I hate parking off main roads, parks, or main dirt roads. Things tend to happen

Glad you got what you wanted. Tell us how you like it compared t your other S&B 3-20x50 and your new Gen II Razor

Knowing your personality you won't be happy unless you have top tier products (thats not an insult by the way). Your a shooter more than a hiker too. You shoot thousands of rounds a year, and Ill tell you what will happen on your next hunt with this rifle if you choose the lesser. First off you going to do a cool write up on this scope and rifle and show us your loads but wish you had the better scope! Even though its a good scope it just doesn't feel like Lance! Then your going to take it out shooting to practice long range and probably get a 3" grouping out to 750 yards and do another cool write up about that and probably mention the scope is good but I could of had better. Then you will take it out hunting and hike with it for your Daughters 6 day hunt in the BaB (again) and not care if your gun will weigh a half pound more and think every once in a while; why didn't I get the top scope for only $100 more? I think most of us on here will believe this is how Lance Thinks! Am I wrong??? Or is 9oz more important to you because in the past its not! Go with what will make you be happy in the long run.

Like you Im with the Boy Scouts as well and for 3 years I was over the 12-13 year old, and now Im over the 14-15 years old (Varsity Scouts). Like you Im not a huge fan of the Scout organization either even though Im an Eagle Scout myself but Scouts is way different these days then it was in the 90's and earlier for that matter. Lot more Red tape and everything, basically you can't do anything these days. Scouts is a place for kids who's dads don't take them hunting or camping. Plus they don't even know the difference because now adays every out door activity is like a class room. What happen to being out doors catching a fish and gutting there and cooking it over the fire with sticks?? Had the boys on a campout and handed them an ax and said chop us some wood for the fire! They said they never chopped wood before and don't know how. WHAT!???! I had to go back to the basics and reteach them where the best fire wood is at, how to chop wood and start fires and these boys were in scouts for almost 2 years. It was at this time I realize that scouts was no longer the same when I grew up. We are given these little princess boys that really don't want to be there and talk more about video games.. We have failed these boys on what it is of being a man and loving the outdoors. Ill tell you my secret now regarding what I do in scouts!!!! I don't care about these kids Eagle anymore. I focus on real work, loving the out doors including fishing, shooting, going to camp sites on purpose that takes 4WD ( I had one boy said it was more fun then a roller coaster). I want them to see and enjoy what I enjoyed growing up and this was 100 times more important then an Eagle Badge!!

The Mans Man sadly is a dying breed! Those men who can shoot a gun, chop wood, start a fire, gut a fish, back up a trailer are washing up and being targeted as Barbarians and hurting their safe space. If you cant gut a fish or back up your trailer shave your beard!
