Let's narrow this 6.5 chamber down (help)
Zeke-BE replied to Zeke-BE's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
To get 3,120 fps Im using H1000 60.5 g I got faster speeds up to 3200 fps with other powders such as H4831 but im at a 1" grouping ( still very good) but I wanted high velocity and under 1/2 MOA. I got .60 MOA with a light load of 57 grains at 2,963 fps which is really good with only 57 grains Im going to try Reload 23 later on to see what velocity I can get but for this year Im sticking with H1000 60.5g with Federal 210 match. Funny I was using CCI 250 and I was flattening out primers like crazy. Federal 210 still had round edges -

That may be true if the SAUM is hot rodded and the 260 is ran at factory pressures. You and I both know people trying to squeeze every fps possible out of those 260 size cases are at the limit of pressure and chewing up barrels faster than they need to. Even the 47L guys are leaning on them pretty hard and developing crazy pressures before the capability just runs out well below 3,000 fps. That SAUM was specifically brought into the light in the last few years because it hits that 3100 fps mark at mediocre pressures without leaning on it. You mentioned speed=wear but left out the pressure and heat that erodes throats and kills barrels. Doesnt need to be debated as it's already been proven. 2013 Sniper Hide Cup was won with a SAUM that ended the comp with 4000ish rounds through it. I have factory brass with 8 reloads and still going strong with tight primer pockets. A good friend has more than 10 reloads on a small batch of the same brass and still going. It's not the be all, end all but it does exactly what it was developed to do (130-140s @3100-3200fps) and it does it at lower pressures than the smaller cased offerings stuffed full of 4350. Good luck to the OP choosing a chambering. If you have any specific questions about the 4S I'd be happy to lend my experience with it after owning creeds. Sounds cool but Stomp442 already built me a sweet 6.5-270 AI pushing a Hornday 143 ELD-X at 3,120 fps with under 1/2 MOA. I wanted a tikka action so no short action for me. Lances SLR sounds cool and I've been messaging him about how easy it is to make those rounds. But Im not also a extreme die hard as Lance and Im not on the press every weekend (that is not an insult by the way). I think Im leaning over more to the 6.5x55 swede because I can just buy the brass and Im going with another tikka (no short action) I might as well take advantage of the length -

Took the boys up to sunrise and greer for horse back riding Horse Back riding, these city slickers couldn't handle 2 hours! I must say I was in the same boat! Teaching the boy's how to cook carne asada for taco. Plus the one kid in the pink hat, well you always have one of those kids in your group who thinks pink is manly--whatever!!!! I teased him Camp was good! Leaders had my trailer and scouts had the tents. As it should be This was Fun! A few weeks ago I had the Scouts come to my plumbing yard and we cut out blades and welded them to steel pipe so we could have a throwing contest! Mom's didn't really like their sons coming home with tomahawks. Dad's thought it was cool. This one is my blade! We were throwing from 20 ft away and I would say 1 out of 3 you would stick it Even though it was like herding cat everyone had a really good time. Lots of spot lighting, good food, horse back riding, mountain biking and showing the boys the respect the wilderness deserves

There are tons of You Tube ice challengers. Yeti does good and rugged but is almost twice the cost as some. Yeti got their foot in the door first so everyone thinks yeti first. But there are plenty of better chest out there. The Calbelas won most of the ice challenge and cheaper. Canyons and RTic are better too. The plain jane Colman extreme held ice almost just as long as a yeti but its not rugged built. The Igloo heavy duty from Sams club for 170 dollars held ice just barley shy of the yeti and its heavy built too. Im against Yetis because all the other brands are just as good or better but lot more expensive -
That would be cool

BC is better with the 6.5 but there are sure a lot of competition winners out there with the 6mm -

The SLR is sounding pretty cool! But I do like the idea of just buying 6.5x55 sweedy brass and ready to go. Is your COAL longer then the creedmoor? -

Ive been looking into that. Also once its fire form I can still use the books powder amount and have less recoil. Plus the potential of hot roding it if I want to -

Ive thought of that but I would like a nice heavy shooting rifle and a low recoil round. So when I shoot this guy it kicks like a .223 -

Oh and planning on shooting this rifle about 300 rounds plus a year -
You need to literally check on line everyday! And don't be afraid to go far for the field day. I know if the Phx area they can fill up that very day when its posted. I almost had to go to Safford to make it in time for the bonus point and I was suppose to go to Wyoming that year.

Ive only met a few people in my life that their wives keep bothering them for more FUN BEDROOM TIME then what their husband can handle!!!! While the rest of us guys are wanting to slap that guy for telling the wife NO! What Really! I think you have a good problem to have. A problem non the less but a good one. You could have a girlfriend who hates what you do!! Sounds like you have a awesome keeper there.

How much do they owe you? You don't have to answer that! But if someone owes you 1k or less and your at this point that you need to a collector I would just walk away. Lesson learned don't lend money, or take payments from people. If its lot more see if they will settle with you, because some people just don't have anything. You can take someone to court, sue them, win, and still not get any money from them because they just don't have money. Lots of low life's out there that won't keep their end of the bargain and it sucks I know! If this is just a way just to stick it to this person in the end your wasting to much of your life on a negative thing. Move on and love life! If this is a business deal and they aren't keeping to their end of the bargain and left you high and dry and they do have the money then sure send the collector to them.
