Two New Rifle Upgrades Coming Soon To An Addict Near You...
Zeke-BE replied to lancetkenyon's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
how many grains of powder can you put in that brass? -
Same here
-
CJ is probably so exicted!! No road blocks in Payson for the 4th
-
If it was the Vias
-
Yeah maybe I need a different tri pod because after a while leaning forward gets old. Standing feels great or sitting all the way back in the chair
-
They pack up really small and very light. But I didn't go ahead and get one because I would have to lean forward to look through my binos. I couldn't get my tripod to spread the legs out far enough to make it work so it became more uncomfortable
-
Air soft gun is a lot of fun!! Same thrills but yet the neighbors don't come of knocking asking if we have seen their cat!!
-
Think of all the violin string you can harvest for those tails

Everywhere and everything I've read about the ABLR people have a hard time with. This was including some of the people on this forum that had a hard time with. But I only remember one guy who spoke up and said he was having great results

Let's narrow this 6.5 chamber down (help)
Zeke-BE posted a topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Last year I had a 6.5x.270 AI built on a McM Game Scout stock, Bartien #4 26", on a Tikka action. This hot rod wildcat Im sure won't last 1200-1400 rounds so I don't want to shot out the barrel. My Plans are to build a similar rifle for muscle memory and longer barrel life. So this will be a target shooting rifle. My desire is using the McM A-5 stock, Tikka action, Bartlien #9 heavy. Rifle should feel close to being the same but lot heavier close to 14# for long range practice. I don't need a hot rod round and okay with it shooting 2500-2600 fps. Here are my choices- 6.5 Creedmoor 6.5x55 (which I can buy a tikka and don't need to chamber it) .260 - (I know its a great round but never cared for the look of it, I like those 30* and 40* shoulders but not a deal breaker) .260 AI 6.5x47L (I know this guy takes more work in getting equipment and brass) For one I already have a creedmoor in a weatherby and they are great, and look awesome. But I am one of those guys that don't want to main stream everything and have what everyone has.(why I went with a 6.5x.270AI) I was routing for the creedmoor when it came out and no one really had one. Now everyone wants one or has one. The 6.5x55 all information on the web is off the old Mauser actions. I find very little info on the modern action. But I hear it has awesome potential and can shoot with less PSI and maybe have a longer barrel life then the others. I remember few of you guys had some good loads for these rounds, and I remember but don't know who was talking about their belief in the greatness of the 6.5x55 -

Once your done shooting it you can always break it down and use the action for another chamber or OTC chamber. But great food for thought you are more likely to resale something that people know about, especially if your in a pinch and you need to get rid of it soon -
I can tell because this is the story of my life with pants. I think Im just a little to big for normal 34s and way to samll for 36s. So I notice a difference very fast in the width. When I try on Dickies for work pants I have to try on all the 34s because there are always a couple that stitch it up slightly bigger. Or maybe I should just loose some weight ?????

And yet you are wearing what appears to be a Guide DCS vest in Vias in your avatar photo.... I really like the Major Brown items, I wish more offerings in it. Same here love the major brown and wish they had more options... I just got the attack pants in major brown.. I wear a waist 34 and Kuiu are pretty true to fit. If you wear a 34 waist they are going to fit like a 34 waist.Weren't Sitka and Kuiu pretty much founded by the same guy he just lost control of the Sitka company and started Kuiu. One of the reasons you dont see Kuiu for sale in stores is because they dont want to get too big. Problem is that Im right there above 34!! If there was a 34.5 or 35 it would be great. But dickeys are like 33.5, some care hearts are 34 and fits perfect and my last pair I bought I swear they are like a 33.5 feel to me. Phil how heavy are you and height?

This is what is going down in Australia These guys have been getting alot of flack down under.. Horse are to close to family pets and tools. But I do agree they need to get rid of them. Nor do I condone these pictures, but I don't want to shot a horse
-
If it's a OTC it means there will be a Sea of orange! And a big handful of people who are going to hike in as well. If your ok with that, then you still get to go elk hunting!!! . But you do need a hunter safety course to hunt in CO
-
I know people keep talking about trendy clothing but really how many brands that are out there (camo pattern wise) 20?? 30 the most?? Then break it down to western hunter patterns 10??? Break it down to top tier brands just a hand full. Divide that up to all the hunters of course it's a lot.

Let's narrow this 6.5 chamber down (help)
Zeke-BE replied to Zeke-BE's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Well narrowed it down to the 6.5x55 and the 6.5 SLR. I was for sure I wasn't going to use the SLR but I love the shoulder compared to the sweed (i know that shouldn't mean any thing but since Im spending the money I want it to look sweet). Plus the cool factor that no one has an 6.5 SLR. But I am using the long action and I want low recoil, I can load that 6.5x55 low shooting at 2500-2600 fps compared to maxing it out at 2900-3000 fps and have a low recoil and longer barrel life. Lance did you say you don't need to turn the necks on those 6.5 SLR? -
Hmmmm ok. Im 5-11 and right at 200lbs.
-
Huh ive seen all these pictures before I don't remember you having this camo. ha ha . Yeah I like the Major Brown and the Vias combo. I also like the foam padded knee pad ones to My thinking was 1st layer Ultra Tibura zip t 2nd layer 200 Pelotan zip t 3rd layer 240 Pelotan 4th Guide DCS jacket Do you think I need the vest for colder weather?

Stomp442 has mention to me he does really well with bergers with good jumps off the lands. I wanted repeaters too, so I just started off the mag length. My 6.5-270 AI loves it right at PURE max mag length. My 300 win mag has a .050 jump and same with the creedmoor did lot better with jumps with the ELDs
