Dave agree 300 rum is big for coues. Maybe thats the only gun they have, they shoot best with or just wanted to use that gun. But using condescending remarks like compensating for something and bringing down hunters who like the way they hunt and not your way is just rude.

ive watched lots of hunting vids of people back packing in waking up and start glassing from camp. Seems like they always glass up bucks that don't even know they are there

I have a number 3 bartlein barrel and usually the third shot starts drifting. If I wait 2-3 min after each shot for a 3 shot group they group good. Maybe just shot 1 and wait 2-5 min and repeat. But 300 rum has a good idea with sanding

Lot of guys haven't gone out scouting yet!!! Thats fine. Archery is my second type of hunting. I focus on rifle but when I get the itch to go out I just grab my bow and head out. No need to scout just enjoy being out doors and if you can put on a stalk thats good hunting right there. I would say 50 percent of the time I head out I put on some type of stalk. At least I get the buck fever feeling

Caldwell does ok. Once you find the right one you need to take an average of 5-8 shots and you should be right there. Hornady case I would try to stay away. If these are just hunting rounds out to 400 yards then your ok. If your wanting to shoot out there maybe pick up nosler. I couldnt believe the weight change on that brass

Social media for sure! Look at Wyoming. I got on to it because of social media but for the past 4 years the units almost need extra preference point every year because of increase application. On the other hand before social media years ago on a pig hunt. Went with a buddy and his family and were told of this awesome spot and everyone will bag out. We get there and there are hunters camped all over this area. We talked to 2 different camps and they said the same thing we were told. Hunting spots burn up faster then California does. Keep your mouth shut on honey holes, water holes, hunting units in general

For the purpose of taking it to a hunt in Mexico, the caliber must be stamped in the rifle barrel. So as long as its stamped on the rifle we are good right? Mine is a 6.5-270 AI stamp
