As for spending to much time doing it, I say if you are bonding more time with family and friends because of it that is the best gift you can have. Sadly Ive met hunters who actually quit their jobs because they couldnt get time off to go on their deer hunt. Mean while wife and kids are at home and dad quit his job so he can do what he wants and not provide for the family. Plus they didnt hunt. Thats to far for me. But man oh man if you have the family on board what a door it opens up for you and to spend awesome time together. Congrats on awesome bucks and to your kids, friends, and wifes huge buck!!

I got a nice built 6.5 creedmoor from Eric at Axis. Sadly I've been focus on other stuff and shot it with factory rounds and haven't made a load yet. Plus I need to get a new scope for it. I hope the gun gods don't strike me down for dragging my feet

If i remember correctly if you read all 7 pages I don't think anyone knocks their faith. But I do understand from a work point though. People believing something better for their life, family, faith, and just goodness should be promoted. Regardless on ones feelings.

Not setting the die will give me a longer neck or maintain the shoulder datum. The 6.5-06 resizing die will only resize the neck of a 6.5-06 length. If I don't shave the holder down I have a 6.5-06 neck size with last 1/8 of the neck length not resize. To get the full length of the neck size properly I need to shave the shell holder for the .270 brass. Now when I bump the shoulder back "0.002 :)" it increases neck length almost every time. Everybody says it shouldn't do that but it does for me. Another reason I want to give up with the .270 brass.

Yeah we measured the thickness and according to spec it needed to me necked down. After I bump the shoulder back .02 back stretches the brass neck longer. I measure every time. There aren't that many 6.5-270s just the 6.5-06. (just wanted something different) I still use the 6.5-06AI die but to fit the longer neck of the .270 you have to shave the shell holder down.

You will run into a couple hunters probably if your based on the trail. But a 7 day hike in archery it won't be anything remotely close to a rifle hunt
